When S\u0101rvabhouma Mah\u0101shay saw this form, he fell unconscious.\u201d\r\n\r\nSri Chaitanya-Charit\u0101mrita says \u2013 \r\n\u201cdekhi s\u0101rbabhouma dandabat kori, punah uthi stab kore dui kor juri.\r\nPrabhur krip\u0101y t\u0101nr sfurilo sob tattvas, n\u0101m Prem d\u0101n \u0101di borner mahatta.\r\nShata shlok koilo ek danda n\u0101 j\u0101ite, brihaspati toichhe shlok n\u0101 pare barnite.\u201d\r\n\r\nMeaning \u2013 \u201cWhen S\u0101rvabhouma saw the immensely effulgent form of the Lord, he paid obeisance. Then he got up, and joining his palms, he glorified the Lord. By the mercy of the Lord, all Tattva, such as the Holy Name and Divine Love became instantly clear to him. In a trice he composed one hundred verses. They were so beautiful that even Brihaspati cannot compose anything equal to them.\u201d\r\n\r\nThis Gour\u0101nga-stotra that contains one hundred verses is called \u201cS\u0101rvabhouma Shatakam\u201d. This name was given by Sri Gour\u0101nga Mah\u0101prabhu himself. We find this in Sri Chaitanya Bh\u0101gabat \u2013 the Lord said with his holy lips \u2013 to S\u0101rvabhouma Bhatt\u0101ch\u0101rya \u2013 \r\n\u201cshata shlok kori tumi je koile staban, je jon koribe ih\u0101 shraban pathan,\r\n\u0100m\u0101te t\u0101h\u0101r Bhakti hoibe nishchoy, S\u0101rbabhouma-Shatak je heno kirti roy.\u201d\r\n\r\nMeaning - \"Whosoever hears or reads these hundred verses composed by you will definitely obtain my Bhakti ! May S\u0101rvabhouma-shatak remain forever glorious !\u201d\r\n\r\nNow this stotra has become famous by the name \u2018sri Chaitanya-shatak\u2019. However we are presenting it by the name given by our Beloved sri Gourachandra, that is, \u201cSri S\u0101rbabhouma-Shatatakam\u201d.\r\n\r\nAlthough this book is small, its impact is huge.
