Lalit\u00e2 has told Her not to speak to Govinda. Yet, She is pining for Him. At the same time She does not want to let go of Her \u2019<em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal\">m\u00e2n<\/em>\u2019. So She is saying -&#8220;Aho! These doe-eyed girls are indeed blessed <!--more-->because Govinda, the handsome youth sports with them. I am so impatient for Him that Lalit\u00e2 will surely scold me. Alas! I so badly want to embrace the moon-faced Govinda. Shame on the cruel creator who has produced this poison called \u2018<em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal\">m\u00e2n\u2019<\/em>!!\u201d \u2013 (V.M)<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoBodyText\" style=\"MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt; TEXT-ALIGN: justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><span style=\"font-size: normal; font-family: Verdana;\"> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoBodyText\" style=\"MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt; TEXT-ALIGN: justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><span style=\"font-size: normal; font-family: Verdana;\">Here we can see a mixture of suspicion, impatience and <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal\">amarsha<\/em>. This is called <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal\">\u2018bh\u00e2v<\/em>&#8211;<em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal\">sh\u00e2valya\u2019<\/em>. Srila Vishwan\u00e2th Chakravartip\u00e2d has written- <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoBodyText\" style=\"MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt; TEXT-ALIGN: justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><span style=\"font-size: normal; font-family: Verdana;\"> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoBodyText\" style=\"MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt; TEXT-ALIGN: justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\"><span style=\"font-size: normal;\"><span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes\"> <\/span>&#8220;In \u2018<em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal\">bh\u00e2v-sh\u00e2valya<\/em>\u2019 one <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal\">bh\u00e2v<\/em> disappears and then another <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal\">bh\u00e2v<\/em> takes its place, while in \u2018<em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal\">bh\u00e2v-sandhi<\/em>\u2019, both <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal\">bh\u00e2v<\/em>s exist simultaneously. This is the difference.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoBodyText\" style=\"MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt; TEXT-ALIGN: right\" align=\"right\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\"><span style=\"font-size: normal;\"><span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes\"> <\/span>&#8211; (purport to B.R.S.2.4.245)<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoBodyText\" style=\"MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt; TEXT-ALIGN: justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><span style=\"font-size: normal; font-family: Verdana;\"> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoBodyText\" style=\"MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt; TEXT-ALIGN: justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><span style=\"font-size: normal; font-family: Verdana;\">Sri R\u00e2dh\u00e2 is sometimes expressing <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal\">bh\u00e2v-sandhi<\/em> and sometimes<em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal\"> bh\u00e2v-sh\u00e2valya<\/em>. In this frame of mind She is criticising Sri Krishna, sometimes glorifying Him, sometimes She is sulking, sometimes She is showing pride, and in this manner She is behaving crazily. Sri Lil\u00e2shuk has echoed Her feelings in this verse.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoBodyText\" style=\"MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt; TEXT-ALIGN: justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><span style=\"font-size: normal; font-family: Verdana;\"> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoBodyText\" style=\"MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt; TEXT-ALIGN: justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\"><span style=\"font-size: normal;\">First, in a love-crazy state, She felt as if She was seeing Sri Krishna face to face &#8211; He was smeared with <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal\">sindur<\/em><\/span><\/span><a style=\"mso-footnote-id: ftn1\" name=\"_ftnref1\" href=\"#_ftn1\"><span class=\"MsoFootnoteReference\"><span style=\"mso-special-character: footnote\"><span class=\"MsoFootnoteReference\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"font-size: normal; color: #800080;\"><sup>[1]<\/sup><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-size: normal; font-family: Verdana;\"> from the body of some other beloved. Seeing Him She felt <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal\">amarsha<\/em>. Her nature is of the type called \u2018<strong style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight: normal\"><em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal\">dhir\u00e2-adhir\u00e2-madhy\u00e2<\/em>\u2019<\/strong>. So She told Sri Krishna sarcastically, with tears in Her eyes &#8211; &#8220;O Dev! Go away and don\u2019t make me cry. If you stay here, the queen of Your heart will be angry. The flowers decorating Your head have stolen some of the <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal\">alaktak <\/em>from her lotus-feet. Go return it to her and decorate her feet once more.\u201d &#8211; (U.N.5.40)<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoBodyText\" style=\"MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt; TEXT-ALIGN: justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><span style=\"font-size: normal; font-family: Verdana;\"> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoBodyText\" style=\"MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt; TEXT-ALIGN: justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><span style=\"font-size: normal; font-family: Verdana;\">Srila Vishwan\u00e2th Chakravartip\u00e2d has explained this verse in his \u00c2nanda Chandrik\u00e2 purport so nicely for us to relish it even more. He writes-<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoBodyText\" style=\"MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt; TEXT-ALIGN: justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><span style=\"font-size: normal; font-family: Verdana;\"> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoBodyText\" style=\"MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt; TEXT-ALIGN: justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><span style=\"font-size: normal; font-family: Verdana;\">R\u00e2dh\u00e2r\u00e2ni said &#8211; &#8220;O Gopendra-nandan!<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes\"> <\/span>You are a prince &#8211; and the lover of hundreds and crores of lascivious women. If an ordinary person such as me cries and kills herself, what does it matter to You? You stand to lose nothing. So You had better go, don\u2019t make me cry any more. If you go away, I will try to forget you, but if You keep standing here, it won\u2019t be possible.&#8221; When Sri Krishna heard the <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal\">m\u00e2nini <\/em>Srimati R\u00e2dh\u00e2 speaking thus, He fell at Her feet and begged to be forgiven. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoBodyText\" style=\"MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt; TEXT-ALIGN: justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><span style=\"font-size: normal; font-family: Verdana;\"> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoBodyText\" style=\"MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt; TEXT-ALIGN: justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><span style=\"font-size: normal; font-family: Verdana;\">Srimati said \u2013 &#8220;If she hears that You are begging forgiveness from me, she will be very angry with You. Now You may ask how would she know? Well, she is the queen of Your heart, so she is bound to know everything. You can\u2019t keep any secret from her. I can also see that You have committed a grave offence! You have stolen the <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal\">alaktak<\/em> from her feet with the flower garland adorning Your head. I suggest You should return to her and decorate her feet with that garland as well as replenish the <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal\">alaktak<\/em>. It is morally right that the thief himself should return the stolen goods to the owner, You see! There is no need to fall at my feet. I am always highly pleased with You, but I will be more pleased if You return quickly to her (meaning, &#8220;get lost!\u201d).\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoBodyText\" style=\"MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt; TEXT-ALIGN: justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><span style=\"font-size: normal; font-family: Verdana;\"> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoBodyText\" style=\"MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt; TEXT-ALIGN: justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><span style=\"font-size: normal; font-family: Verdana;\">When Sri Krishna disappeared from Her vision, Sri R\u00e2dh\u00e2 felt as if She had driven Him away. Therefore, She was repentant and once again, She became eager to behold Him. She prayed, &#8220;O my darling! You are my beloved. I am ignorant. I have mistakenly disrespected You. So is it right of You to discard me? Please give me <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal\">darshan<\/em>!\u201d Hearing this Sri Krishna again appeared and begged Her forgiveness. He stood before Her with folded palms like an offender. Then Srimati felt ill will towards Him, which always follows <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal\">amarsha<\/em>. When He came to Sri R\u00e2dh\u00e2 She could see the marks of kohl, <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal\">p\u00e2n-<\/em>stains, <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal\">sindur<\/em> and nails on His body. She was full of anger. She taunted Him &#8211; &#8220;Aha! You are looking like the red and blue form of Lord Shiva! How nicely You have decked up! O Pashupati (Shiva, or in another sense \u2018cattle-grazer\u2019)! Why didn\u2019t You bring P\u00e2rvati with You? The picture would have been complete. In the early morning I would have easily got <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal\">darshan<\/em> of Sri Hara-Gauri.\u201d <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoBodyText\" style=\"MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt; TEXT-ALIGN: right\" align=\"right\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><span style=\"font-size: normal; font-family: Verdana;\">\u2013 (U.N.5.36)<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoBodyText\" style=\"MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt; TEXT-ALIGN: justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><span style=\"font-size: normal; font-family: Verdana;\"> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoBodyText\" style=\"MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt; TEXT-ALIGN: justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><span style=\"font-size: normal; font-family: Verdana;\">In the above verse, \u2018O Pashupati\u2019 has two meanings. It could mean \u2018Lord Shiva\u2019, on the other hand it could also mean \u2018the \u2018<em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal\">pati\u2019<\/em> (master) of \u2018<em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal\">pashu<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u2019<\/span><\/em> (animals), thereby meaning that \u2018You are a cowherd and You do not have any taste (otherwise how could You choose someone like Chandr\u00e2vali?)\u2019 Also, it indirectly means that Chandr\u00e2vali is a \u2018<em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal\">pashu<\/em>\u2019 or someone without intelligence or taste. Here the word \u2018<em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal\">pashu<\/em>\u2019 is used in a collective sense, which means, He has enjoyed with not only Chandr\u00e2vali, but also all her <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal\">sakhis<\/em>. These words prove Sri R\u00e2dh\u00e2 is outspoken, has sharp intelligence and is controlled.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoBodyText\" style=\"MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt; TEXT-ALIGN: justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><span style=\"font-size: normal; font-family: Verdana;\"> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoBodyText\" style=\"MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt; TEXT-ALIGN: justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><span style=\"font-size: normal; font-family: Verdana;\">In the present verse, Srimati is saying with sarcasm &#8211; &#8220;O One and only Friend of the universe! You are not just my Friend, but also the Friend of all the <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal\">Gopis<\/em>. Why only the <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal\">Gopis<\/em>? You are a Friend of each and every woman who is attracted by Your flute. It is not Your fault. You have to please everybody. You cannot afford to please just me. Go and please them.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoBodyText\" style=\"MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt; TEXT-ALIGN: justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><span style=\"font-size: normal; font-family: Verdana;\"> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoBodyText\" style=\"MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt; TEXT-ALIGN: justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><span style=\"font-size: normal; font-family: Verdana;\">As soon as Srimati spoke, Shy\u00e2msundar disappeared. Once again, She was thirsty for His <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal\">darshan<\/em>.
