In the siddha-swarup<\/em> the poet is lamenting \u2013 I will never be lucky to get darshan<\/em> of Sri Krishna\u2019s R\u00e2s-leel\u00e2s<\/em> with Sri R\u00e2dh\u00e2. Divine pastimes are naturally sweet and wonderful. Amongst all divine pastimes of Krishna, those enacted in the human form are the best. His beauty is unsurpassed when He is in the form of a budding youth, dressed as a cowherd boy and holding the flute.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

In Sri Vrind\u00e2van, Sri Krishna performs very sweet pastimes such as the R\u00e2s-leel\u00e2<\/em> with Sri R\u00e2dh\u00e2 and the other Vraja-beauties. These leel\u00e2s<\/em> are full of Shring\u00e2r-ras<\/em> and are incomparable. Over and above His very confidential pastimes with Sri R\u00e2dh\u00e2 in the secluded flower-groves are infinitely sweet-relished only by the sakhi-manjaris<\/em>. Sri M\u00e2dhav is the Ocean of Shring\u00e2r-ras<\/em> <\/em>while Sri R\u00e2dh\u00e2 is the Ocean of Mah\u00e2bh\u00e2v<\/em>. When They unite, waves of sweetness surge forth and the sakhi<\/em>–manjaris<\/em>\u2019 shafari<\/em>[1]<\/sup><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a>-like eyes swim happily in its wavelets. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

The ocean of Srimati\u2019s Mah\u00e2bh\u00e2v<\/em> arouses infinite desires in heart of Sri Krishna Who is the best of all \u00c2tm\u00e2r\u00e2m<\/em> and \u00c2ptak\u00e2m<\/em>. Her Mah\u00e2bh\u00e2v<\/em> forces Him to dress up beautifully and wander from one flower-grove to another. It makes Him express so many\u00a0fantastic love-sports. After all, there is no end to the pastimes of the Divine Couple. Sri Lil\u00e2shuk is anxious to behold this leel\u00e2<\/em> in the mood of a sakhi<\/em>. He is depressed and is thinking that he is not so fortunate as to behold those pastimes.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>In the s\u00e2dhak<\/em>-state Sri Lil\u00e2shuk wishes to embrace Sri Krishna with his eyes, since he thinks it is impossible to get the opportunity to physically embrace him. It is indeed very difficult to be able to embrace Sri Bhagav\u00e2n<\/em> physically. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

When Sri Bhagav\u00e2n<\/em> is extremely pleased with a devotee, He embraces him and only a very fortunate devotee gets to embrace Sri Bhagav\u00e2n<\/em>. When the Divine associate Sri Hanum\u00e2n returned from Lank\u00e2 and conveyed Mother Sit\u00e2\u2019s message to Sri R\u00e2mchandra, then the Lord said \u2013 <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

“O my dear Hanum\u00e2n! You have helped me so much and I cannot give you anything in return. I thought about it and decided I would never be able to repay your debt.\u201d <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

When the Lord found He could not give Sri Hanum\u00e2n anything, He said \u2013 <\/span><\/p>\n

“idaning te pravakshy\u00e2mi sarvaswang mama maruta,<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

ity-alingya sama-akrishya gadhang vanara-pungavam.\u201d<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Meaning \u2013 “O M\u00e2ruti! I will give you everything that belongs to me. Saying thus, the Lord lifted Sri Hanum\u00e2n who was fallen at His holy feet and embraced him tightly to his chest.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

This shows that His embrace is His topmost gift. He said further \u2013 <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

“pari-rambho hi me loke durlabhah paramatmanah,<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

atastang mama bhakto\u2019si priyo\u2019si hari-pungava.\u201d<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

– [\u00c2dhy\u00e2tma-R\u00e2m\u00e2yan]<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Meaning \u2013 “O best of all monkeys! In this universe, it is near impossible to receive my embrace. You are my devotee and supremely dear to me, hence I embraced you.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

In Neel\u00e2chal Sriman-Mah\u00e2prabhu had vowed not to give darshan<\/em> to King Prat\u00e2prudra. S\u00e2rvabhouma Bhatt\u00e2ch\u00e2rya, R\u00e2m\u00e2nanda Roy and even Lord Nity\u00e2nanda along with other devotees had requested Him to change His decision. But the Lord did not accept their request. At last on S\u00e2rvabhouma\u2019s idea, King Prat\u00e2prudra had recited a shlok<\/em> of Gopi-geet to the ecstatic Lord while He was resting on the day of Sri Ratha-Y\u00e2tr\u00e2. The Lord was extremely pleased and had embraced him. In this context Sri Chaitanya Charit\u00e2mrita says \u2013 <\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

“The Lord was resting on the earth with His eyes closed, while the king took the chance to massage His feet in an expert manner. He glorified the Lord by reciting \u2018jayati te\u2019 dhikam<\/em>\u2019 from the R\u00e2s-leel\u00e2<\/em>. As the Lord heard this, He became extremely pleased. He repeatedly cried for more and more.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Then the king recited a verse from Sri Krishna-Karn\u00e2mritam and the Lord embraced him with a gush of love.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

He said \u2013 \u2018You gave me so many priceless gems, but I have nothing to give you in return, so I gave you \u2018an embrace\u2019.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

From this incident we learn the Lord regards embracing in very high esteem. Sri Lil\u00e2shuk is finding it near impossible to embrace the Lord even with his eyes.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

Srila Bhatta Gosw\u00e2mip\u00e2d says, earlier Sri Lil\u00e2shuk has embraced the \u2018sweet sweet\u2019 Sri Krishna with his eyes, but now he is saying that he is not so fortunate any more.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u2018ambu-ruha-vilochanang<\/span><\/em><\/strong> b\u00e2lam\u2019<\/em><\/span><\/strong> means \u2018the corners of His eyes are slightly rose-tinged like the inner petals of the lotus.\u2019 \u2018b\u00e2l<\/strong><\/em>\u2019 means \u2018soft beauty\u2019. The poet wants to be engrossed in the bliss of such a darshan<\/em>. He uses the word \u2018hanta<\/em><\/strong>\u2019 to show despair \u2013 \u2018I don\u2019t have the good fortune to behold my Fortune (Krishna) either from far or near.\u2019<\/span><\/p>\n

Srip\u00e2d Chaitanyad\u00e2s Gosw\u00e2mi says \u2013 it is a s\u00e2dhan\u00e2<\/em> to behold the embodiment of Good Fortune (Govinda) even from far! Let alone beholding Him with just one bh\u00e2v<\/em>-full eye, I am not lucky to get His darshan<\/em> even with two open eyes. 43.<\/span><\/p>\n
