Srila Gop\u00e2l Bhatta Gosw\u00e2mip\u00e2d explains that Sri Lil\u00e2shuk desires to behold Sri Krishna\u2019s lotus-face that is extremely radiant with wonderful striking sweetness. O my Lord! When will I get to see Your \u2018abja<\/em><\/strong>\u2019 lotus-face or moon-face? The moon dissipates heat while the lotus has beauty, fragrance, sweet ras<\/em> (honey), sweet sound (humming of the bees) and is very soft to touch. Thus the lotus is pleasing to all the five senses. Similarly Sri Krishna\u2019s moon-face takes away the heat of viraha<\/em> and also gives the relish of all the five qualities of the lotus. Sri Krishna is extremely happy, so His face is always wearing a soft sweet smile. His lips are \u2018aruna-arun<\/em>\u2019<\/strong>. Arun<\/em> is the sun-god\u2019s charioteer. He is seen just before the sun-set and is crimson coloured as well as brilliant. So \u2018aruna-arun<\/em>\u2019 means \u2018more arun <\/em>than arun\u2019<\/em>, that is, rosier and more brilliant than Arun<\/em> or dawn. His venu-geet<\/em> is doubly alluring since it is dripping with joy. This means He is playing a variety of sweet melodies with His flute. <\/span><\/p>\n

Also His very large eyes are glancing through half-closed lids. This glance is darting here and there, is full of ras<\/em> and vaidagdha<\/em>. How beautiful!<\/span><\/p>\n

Srila Chaitanyad\u00e2s Gosw\u00e2mi says, Sri Lil\u00e2shuk is once again praying with all his heart \u2013 “O Sri Krishna! When will I see Your lotus-face? Why is he calling it \u2018lotus-face\u2019? Because it is always radiant with soft smile and is \u2018more arun<\/em> than arun<\/em>\u2019. His lips are playing on the flute, giving rise to doubly alluring venu-geet<\/em>. His eyes are hovering on His beloved like bumble-bees and His glance, through eyelids that are half-shut due to pleasure, is supremely heart-stealing.44.<\/span><\/p>\n
