It means, &#8220;My heart is absorbed in That <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">Leel\u00e2may<\/em><a style=\"mso-footnote-id: ftn1;\" name=\"_ftnref1\" href=\"#_ftn1\"><span class=\"MsoFootnoteReference\"><span style=\"mso-special-character: footnote;\"><span class=\"MsoFootnoteReference\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-ansi-language: EN-GB; mso-bidi-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-fareast-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA;\" lang=\"EN-GB\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><sup>[1]<\/sup><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a> Sri Krishna. How is That Dev (God)? He is \u2018<strong style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;\"><em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">kusuma-shara-shara-samara-kupita-mada-gopi-kucha-kalasa-ghusrina-ras-lasad-urasi<\/em><\/strong><em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">\u2019.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span><strong style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;\">\u2018Kusuma-shara\u2019<\/strong><\/em> means \u2018the Love-god\u2019 (here, it indicates Sri Krishna). The second \u2018<strong style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;\"><em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">shara<\/em><\/strong>\u2019 refers to his arrows<!--more-->\u00a0(kisses, touching the breasts, love-bites and nail-marks). The <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">Gopis<\/em> had a battle of love with Sri Krishna and they gave up the fight on their own, since they were intoxicated with passion. They held Him in tight embrace. This transferred the <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">kumkum<\/em> from their bosom onto Him. This made Him seem all the more beautiful. He looked as if His <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">anur\u00e2g<\/em> for the <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">Gopis<\/em> had manifested on His chest in the form of <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">kumkum<\/em>. (We must note that both <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">anur\u00e2g<\/em> and <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">kumkum<\/em> are red in colour). <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\" lang=\"EN-GB\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\" lang=\"EN-GB\">We said that the <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">Gopis<\/em> were \u2018intoxicated with passion\u2019. However, we must always remember that in the case of the <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">Gopis<\/em>, passion is synonymous with <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">\u2018prem\u2019<\/em>. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\" lang=\"EN-GB\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\" lang=\"EN-GB\">&#8220;The \u2018<em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">prem<\/em>\u2019 (pure love) of the <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">Gopa<\/em>-women is famous as \u2018<em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">k\u00e2m <\/em>(passion).\u201d \u2013 (B.R.S.1.2.283-284)<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\" lang=\"EN-GB\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\" lang=\"EN-GB\">The following verse from Srimad-Bh\u00e2gavatam is a burning example to this effect \u2013 <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\" lang=\"EN-GB\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1265\" style=\"width: 529px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/kunjeshwari.com\/sweetblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/12\/gopi-geet1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1265\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1265 \" title=\"gopi-geet1\" src=\"http:\/\/kunjeshwari.com\/sweetblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/12\/gopi-geet1-300x211.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"519\" height=\"346\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1265\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Govinda listens surreptiously the lamentation of the Gopis<\/p><\/div>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\" lang=\"EN-GB\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\" lang=\"EN-GB\">Here the most important point is that, a sweetheart drowns in pleasure when she clasps her lover to her bosom, yet the <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">Vrajab\u00e2l\u00e2s<\/em> do not care a bit for their own happiness when they press Madan-mohan Sri Krishna\u2019s holy feet to their breasts, although He is dearer than countless lives to them. Instead of feeling joyous, they are fearful of hurting Him. We may ask, \u2018Then is it not better they do not hold His feet at all?\u2019 Well, they know that it makes Sri Krishna happy to place His feet on their bosom, so they press them close to their hearts. On the other hand, they feel His feet are too soft and hence they are afraid of hurting Him. It proves that the <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">Gopis <\/em>are absolutely free from the desire of sense-gratification. Only <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">rasik <\/em>devotees can comprehend this fact.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\" lang=\"EN-GB\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\" lang=\"EN-GB\">Again, how is Sri Krishna?<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: Verdana;\" lang=\"EN-GB\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\" lang=\"EN-GB\">His face is <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">\u2018<strong style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;\">mada-mudita\u2019 <\/strong><\/em>and \u2018<strong style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;\"><em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">mridu-hasita<\/em>\u2019<em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">. <\/em><\/strong>It means, \u2018His face shines brilliantly with joy. His smile is so beautiful that it seems to have stolen the radiance of the moon <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">(<strong style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;\">mushita-shashi-shobh\u00e2)<\/strong><\/em>.\u2019 His beauty and sweetness &#8211;<strong style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;\"><em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\"> muhuh-adhika \u2013 <\/em><\/strong>enhances every moment. My heart is absorbed in such sweet beauty of His lotus face <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">(<strong style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;\">mukha-kamala-madhurimani).<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><strong style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;\"><em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\" lang=\"EN-GB\">\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\" lang=\"EN-GB\">Srila Chaitanyad\u00e2s Gosw\u00e2mi says the poet got a <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">sphurti<\/em> of Sri Krishna\u2019s sweetness after He had made love and has recited this verse. Srimad-Bh\u00e2gavatam says \u2013 <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\" lang=\"EN-GB\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\" lang=\"EN-GB\">&#8220;When Sri Krishna reappeared on the <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">R\u00e2s<\/em>-floor, an important <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">Gopi<\/em>, overcome with love-anger, bit her lips, knit her brow and chastised Him.\u201d We learn from the Sh\u00e2stras and \u00c2ch\u00e2ryas that She was none other than Srimati R\u00e2dh\u00e2r\u00e2ni. This verse from Srimad-Bh\u00e2gavatam too centres on our Ishwari. The <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">kumkum<\/em> from Srimati R\u00e2dh\u00e2r\u00e2ni\u2019s breasts has coloured Sri Krishna\u2019s chest, as a result, He is looking so handsome. What is the effect of Her touch on Him? He is exultant and His smile is so broad and beautiful that it has put the full moon to shame.
