When Srimati R\u00e2dh\u00e2r\u00e2ni did not get Sri Krishna\u2019s <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">darshan,<\/em> She was miserable and swooned <!--more-->once more. Her <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">sakhis<\/em> consoled Her saying, &#8220;Dear R\u00e2dhe, don\u2019t You remember from how many calamities Sri Krishna has protected us? Therefore He will certainly come along one of these paths and make us happy.\u201d Srimati was soothed by these sweet words of Her <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">sakhis<\/em> and started glorifying Sri Krishna with a verse from Gopi-geet \u2013 <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\" lang=\"EN-GB\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\" lang=\"EN-GB\">&#8220;O Best of men! You have protected the <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">Gopas <\/em>and the cows of Vraja from the poisonous water of K\u00e2lindi and from the grip of Agh\u00e2sur who came in the form of a python. You held up Girir\u00e2j for seven days and nights and shielded all the Brijw\u00e2sis from the torrential rain and thunderbolts of Indra. You have always protected the residents of Vrind\u00e2van from <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">asuras<\/em> like Vrish\u00e2sur and Vyom\u00e2sur, and from catastrophes such as the forest-fire.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: right;\" align=\"right\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\" lang=\"EN-GB\">\u2013 (Srimad-Bh\u00e2gavatam10.39.3)<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\" lang=\"EN-GB\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\" lang=\"EN-GB\">In this manner, Srimati R\u00e2dh\u00e2r\u00e2ni sang odes to Sri Krishna and searched for Him on the pathways. She saw Sri Krishna in a <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">sphurti<\/em> and the poet has expressed Her feelings in this verse. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\" lang=\"EN-GB\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\" lang=\"EN-GB\">Srimati R\u00e2dh\u00e2r\u00e2ni told Her <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">sakhis<\/em>, &#8220;I can see Sri Krishna\u2019s most handsome <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">kaishor<\/em> on the pathways of Sri Vrind\u00e2van.\u201d Here \u2018Sri Krishna\u2019s most handsome <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">kaishor<\/em>\u2019 means \u2018Sri Krishna Who is a <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">kishor<\/em> and He is very handsome\u2019. How is that form? It is dark blue, novel each moment and splendorous. Srimati is assured, &#8220;He is supremely compassionate and always dispels the sorrows of His dear ones; He will certainly rid us of our sorrow.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\" lang=\"EN-GB\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\" lang=\"EN-GB\">Sri Krishna has taken an oath to rid the Vrajajanas of all misery. Whenever they have faced any trouble, He has firmly fulfilled His vow. When He had stopped the traditional offering to Indra and started Sri Govardhan-<em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">puj\u00e2<\/em>, the king of the demi-gods had expressed his anger by summoning the doomsday clouds. This had resulted in torrential rain, storms and lethal blows of thunder. The Brijw\u00e2sis had only Sri Krishna\u2019s lotus feet as their shelter. It is not because they are aware of His majesty, but due to the fact that the all-knowing Sri Garg\u00e2ch\u00e2rya had told Sri Nanda Mah\u00e2r\u00e2j during the Naming Ceremony \u2013 <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\" lang=\"EN-GB\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\" lang=\"EN-GB\">&#8220;O R\u00e2jan, this son of yours will bring auspiciousness to the <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">Gopas<\/em> and Gokul, and cause supreme bliss to all. He shall enable you to get rid of all your troubles and sorrows.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: right;\" align=\"right\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\" lang=\"EN-GB\">\u2013 (Srimad-Bh\u00e2gavatam10.8.16)<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\" lang=\"EN-GB\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\" lang=\"EN-GB\">The Brijw\u00e2sis are simple. They have firm faith in the words of the sages. Therefore, although they are in a sweet mood, they seek Sri Krishna\u2019s shelter in troubles and tribulations. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\" lang=\"EN-GB\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\" lang=\"EN-GB\">The same day that Sri Krishna delivered K\u00e2liya N\u00e2g, a terrible forest fire threatened to annihilate Vraja at night. The <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">Gopas<\/em> woke up from their sleep and finding themselves in the throes of the dreadful fire, they sought refuge of Sri Krishna Who is the Supreme Brahman in the form of a human. They prayed \u2013 <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\" lang=\"EN-GB\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\" lang=\"EN-GB\">&#8220;O all-powerful Sri Krishna! Please rescue Your friends and relatives from this terrible forest fire. We can never forsake Your lotus feet that grant freedom from fear.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\" lang=\"EN-GB\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\" lang=\"EN-GB\">The Brijw\u00e2sis have an unshakeable faith that Sri Krishna can deliver them all obstacles. Wherever He sees a river, He takes it as K\u00e2lindi, and immediately the Lord dances and falls on the earth crying in love-ecstasy.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: right;\" align=\"right\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\" lang=\"EN-GB\">&#8211; (Sri Chaitanya-Charit\u00e2mrita.Madhya.17.52-53)<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\" lang=\"EN-GB\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\" lang=\"EN-GB\">When the Lord went to Sri Vrind\u00e2van, He expressed special symptoms of<em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\"> prem<\/em> \u2013 <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\" lang=\"EN-GB\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\" lang=\"EN-GB\">&#8220;In Neel\u00e2chal, the Lord was immersed in <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">prem<\/em>. However, on the way to Vrind\u00e2van His <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">prem <\/em>increased a hundred fold. When He beheld Mathur\u00e2, His <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">prem<\/em> amplified a thousand times and ten million times when He roamed in the woods of Vrind\u00e2van. As long as He was in some other place, He only experienced <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">prem <\/em>surging through Him at the very mention of Vrind\u00e2van. We can imagine how much then, actual <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">darshan<\/em> of Vrind\u00e2van must have affected Him.\u201d \u2013 (Sri Chaitanya-Charit\u00e2mrita.Madhya.17.212-214)<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\" lang=\"EN-GB\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\" lang=\"EN-GB\">As Sri Lil\u00e2shuk approached Mathur\u00e2 he had <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">sphurti<\/em> of Sri Krishna and said, &#8220;Dear Govinda, You have pledged with Your holy lips, \u2018my devotee never perishes\u2019. I keep on remembering this oath and continue to survive.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\" lang=\"EN-GB\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\" lang=\"EN-GB\">Sri Krishna has also vowed \u2013<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\" lang=\"EN-GB\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\" lang=\"EN-GB\">&#8220;Those who seek shelter unto my feet saying, \u2018O Krishna, I am Yours\u2019, I always grant them asylum \u2013 this is my pledge.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\" lang=\"EN-GB\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\" lang=\"EN-GB\">The poet is saying, &#8220;The One Who has vowed like this to protect His surrendered devotees, we are seeing His ever-new dark blue splendour spread sweet brilliance on the paths to Sri Vrind\u00e2van.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\" lang=\"EN-GB\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\" lang=\"EN-GB\">We may classify the surrendered devotees into two types. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\" lang=\"EN-GB\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt 36pt; text-indent: -18pt; text-align: justify; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; tab-stops: list 36.0pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Symbol; mso-fareast-font-family: Symbol; mso-bidi-font-family: Symbol;\" lang=\"EN-GB\"><span style=\"mso-list: Ignore;\">\u00a9<span style=\"font: 7pt &quot;Times New Roman&quot;;\"> <\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\" lang=\"EN-GB\">Sri Govinda\u2019s near ones \u2013 they have no desire for sense-gratification at all. They are extremely greedy only to relish Sri Krishna\u2019s sweetness. When anything stops them from relishing this sweetness, they seek refuge at Sri Govinda\u2019s lotus-feet. They love Kishor-Krishna and they find His beautiful brilliance ever new and very soft. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt 36pt; text-indent: -18pt; text-align: justify; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; tab-stops: list 36.0pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Symbol; mso-fareast-font-family: Symbol; mso-bidi-font-family: Symbol;\" lang=\"EN-GB\"><span style=\"mso-list: Ignore;\">\u00a9<span style=\"font: 7pt &quot;Times New Roman&quot;;\"> <\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\" lang=\"EN-GB\">There is another class of devotees. They take refuge of Sri Krishna\u2019s holy feet to get rid of their obstacles. They never run to anyone else. They are fully convinced that Sri Krishna alone is capable of destroying all types of suffering. They have the firm faith that Govinda always protects His devotees and never lets them perish.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt 18pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\" lang=\"EN-GB\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt 18pt; text-align: justify;\"><em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\" lang=\"EN-GB\">Sharan\u00e2gati <\/span><\/em><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\" lang=\"EN-GB\">is the soul of <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">bhakti<\/em>&#8211;<em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">s\u00e2dhan\u00e2<\/em>. We should perform <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">bhajan<\/em> along with self-surrender. If <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">sharan\u00e2gati <\/em>is not deep-rooted in our hearts, we will never be able to adore Sri <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">Bhagav\u00e2n<\/em>. Even if we do not feel <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">sharan\u00e2gati <\/em>now, we should continue with our <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">bhajan<\/em>. When we advance in <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">bhajan<\/em>, our feeling of <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">sharan\u00e2gati<\/em> too will become firm. Then we will be able to put all our responsibilities on Sri Govinda and rest in peace. One day Sriman-Mah\u00e2prabhu had told Sriv\u00e2s Pandit \u2013 <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt 18pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\" lang=\"EN-GB\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt 18pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\" lang=\"EN-GB\">&#8220;(The Lord said) \u2013 I see you do not go anywhere. I do not know how you are managing your day-to-day life. I do not understand how you will manage in the future either. Sriv\u00e2s replied, \u2018My Lord, I tell You I do not feel like going anywhere.\u2019 The Lord said, \u2018You have a large family. How will you support all of them?\u2019 Sriv\u00e2s said, \u2018Well, whatever luck has in store for me, will happen. I will get that much only.\u2019 Prabhu said, \u2018In that case, you accept <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">sany\u00e2s<\/em>.\u2019 \u2018No, my Lord, I cannot do that\u2019, said Sriv\u00e2s. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt 18pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\" lang=\"EN-GB\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt 18pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\" lang=\"EN-GB\">The Lord said, \u2018What is this? You will not become a <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">sany\u00e2si<\/em>, neither will you approach anyone for any means &#8211; how will you sustain your family? I do not understand you. Nowadays, if you do not move around, a single paisa will not arrive at your doorstep on its own; and if you do not get any money what you will do, you just tell me that. Sriv\u00e2s clapped thrice saying \u2018one, two, and three\u2019. Prabhu asked, \u2018what do mean by clapping and saying, one, two, three\u2019. This is my decision; I shall fast for three days and still after that if I do not get any food, then I have vowed to tie a pitcher round my neck and surely enter the Gang\u00e2.\u2019 <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt 18pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\" lang=\"EN-GB\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt 18pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\" lang=\"EN-GB\">When Lord Shachinandan heard Sriv\u00e2s speaking in this manner He stood up and roared, \u2018what did you say, Pandit Sriv\u00e2s? Am I going to let you fast for lack of food? Even if some day, Laxmi <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">Devi<\/em> is forced to beg from door to door you will never face poverty. If one does not approach anyone to fulfil his material needs and only meditates on me \u2013 all fulfilments come to him on their own. <\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"mso-bookmark: OLE_LINK34;\"><span style=\"mso-bookmark: OLE_LINK33;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\" lang=\"EN-GB\"> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><br class=\"spacer_\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\" lang=\"EN-GB\">Why should my servant worry about food when I am there to take care of him? Sriv\u00e2s, you remain happily at home.
