This verse tells us that, Lila-kishor, the very sweet form of Shy\u00e2msundar and the only delight of Sri Lil\u00e2shuk\u2019s eyes and heart, is performing some wonderful leel\u00e2<\/em> with him by remaining just a little distance away from him. In this way, the sweet Lord is relishing ras<\/em>. He is very clever and knows how to enhance the love-thirst of a devotee rapidly. We learn from another verse that Sri Lil\u00e2shuk did manage to catch the Naughty One \u2013 the One Who is unperceivable by the best of Yogis! This was by the strength of His deepest anur\u00e2g<\/em>. Otherwise, who has ever managed to hold that Eternally Playful One forever? As soon as Lil\u00e2shuk caught Him, Sri Krishna too smiled a little and laughing mirthfully, He slipped away. Then the poet said \u2013 <\/span><\/p>\n

“hastam-utkshipya<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

yato\u2019si balat krishna kim adbhutam,<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

hridayad yadi niryasi paurushang ganayami te.\u201d<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Meaning \u2013 “O Krishna! You are wrenching free from my grip, is it a sign of valour? I shall concede Your boldness only if You can escape from my heart!\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The devotee\u2019s heart is Sri Krishna\u2019s \u2018resting room\u2019. He can never leave it. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“bhakter hridoye krishner satata bishr<\/span><\/em>\u00e2m.\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Meaning \u2013 “Krishna always reposes in the devotee\u2019s heart\u201d. <\/span><\/p>\n

Srip\u00e2d Bhatta Gosw\u00e2mi said: In the previous verse Sri Lil\u00e2shuk exclaimed, \u2018aho chitra vichitram\u2019<\/em>. From this, we learn that he has relished Sri Krishna-realization. Now by Sri Krishna\u2019s mercy he is the sole proprietor of His krip\u00e2<\/em>. The other four eternal substances \u2013 time, karma, M\u00e2y\u00e2 and the living entity \u2013 do not contain krip\u00e2<\/em>. Jiva or the living entity is Sri Krishna\u2019s eternal servant. Krip\u00e2-shakti<\/em> arouses the desire for sev\u00e2<\/em> in the Jiva and eventually grants him actual darshan<\/em> and Sri Krishna\u2019s sev\u00e2<\/em> in His eternal abode. <\/span><\/p>\n

When we get sev\u00e2<\/em> we should consider it Sri Krishna\u2018s krip\u00e2<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

We may feel that although the jivas, who are bound by M\u00e2y\u00e2, have no krip\u00e2<\/em>, the devotees do possess krip\u00e2<\/em>. In that case how can we say that Sri Krishna is the sole proprietor of krip\u00e2<\/em>–shakti<\/em>? Sri Jiva Gosw\u00e2mi has answered this question. He says that Sri Krishna is very merciful. Therefore, he has stored some krip\u00e2<\/em> in His devotees so that they may distribute it easily in this material world. The Divine krip\u00e2<\/em> flows from one living being to another using the merciful devotees as a medium. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Srila Chaitanya d\u00e2s says, Sri Lil\u00e2shuk got Sri Krishna\u2019s darshan<\/em> and recited this verse. He exclaimed, “Aho! What is this?\u201d He observed carefully and said, “He is performing some inexpressibly sweet love-sports before me; not only in front of me, but also all around me. Alone, He is appearing everywhere. How do I know it is true? Well, it is true because my eyes are the witnesses. When I can see it with my very eyes, why should I doubt it? Sri Lil\u00e2shuk stretched his hands eagerly to touch his loving God, but could not catch Him. He cried in woe and misery – Alas! Alas! Sri Krishna is a little distance away. When the sphurti<\/em> disappeared, he gazed up at the sky and exclaimed sorrowfully \u2013 O Mother! How did the whole universe assume the form of Kishor? 60<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n
