rila Krishnad\u00e2s Kavir\u00e2j Gosw\u00e2mi has explained – when the sakhis saw that Sri Radha was extremely eager to behold Sri Krishna, they told her, \u2018Radhe! You will get His darshan<\/em> just now. Please wait for just a few moments. To this Srimati replied and Sri Lil\u00e2shuk has quoted Her in this verse.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Sri R\u00e2dh\u00e2 is saying, “O sakhis! When will I get to behold that Nava-kishor Sri Krishna, Who is the treasure house of love\u2013sports? The ocean is called \u2018treasure house\u2019 because it is fathomless, huge, and mysterious and holds infinite jewels. Similarly, Sri Krishna\u2019s loving ras<\/em>\u2013full dalliance with three hundred crores of Gopis is infinite, very deep, highly mysterious and full of love\u2013jewels. Only the saints who are in the mood of Vrajab\u00e2l\u00e2s<\/em> can meditate upon him. <\/span><\/p>\n

How is That Nava-kishor Krishna, Who is the treasure house of love\u2013sports? <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

He is vakshah \u2013 sthale cha vipulan nayanotpale cha<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 Whose chest and lotus\u2013eyes are large. Even Sriman-Mah\u00e2prabhu has said in love delirium – <\/span><\/p>\n

“Sri Krishna\u2019s chest is very high and very vast. It is decorated with the marks of goddess Laxmi and shrivatsa<\/em>. His chest is verily a dacoit.\u00a0 <\/span>His vaksha <\/em><\/strong>(bosom) is an expert in plundering the vakshas<\/em><\/strong> (hearts) of innumerable Vrajadevis<\/em> and force them to become His maid servants\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The Lord has described Sri Krishna\u2019s eyes as \u2018rose\u2013tinged in the corners and huge. They move as if they are intoxicated with love. His eyes are His ministers (who mesmerize young maidens). His face is the abode of l\u00e2vanya<\/em> and love\u2013sports. It is a feast for the eyes. So blissful is Govinda\u2019s face!\u2019 <\/span><\/p>\n

The beauty of His huge eyes is extremely captivating to the Vrajab\u00e2l\u00e2s<\/em>. <\/span><\/p>\n

Poet Govinda Das has written \u2013 <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“Sri Krishna\u2019s eyes are beautiful like those of the Khanjan birds. They charm everybody and they strike fear in the hearts of young dignified ladies (since they are scared of losing their honour)\u201d. <\/span><\/p>\n

Also, “Sri Krishna\u2018s eyes strike flower-tipped arrows that are fatal for young ladies of reputation.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

How is Sri Krishna?<\/span><\/p>\n

He is “manda smite cha mridulang mada \u2013 jalpite cha<\/em><\/strong>\u201d \u2013 He smiles and speaks intoxicatingly and softly. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

How are His lips?<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“sindura \u2013 sundaratara \u2013 adhara mandara- manda \u2013 hasita \u2013 dyuti \u2013dipitangsham<\/em><\/strong>\u201d \u2013 “Sri Krishna\u2019s lips are more beautiful than sindoor<\/em> and are lit up with a smile that is more beautiful than the full moon, kunda<\/em> flower and mand\u00e2r<\/em> blossom.\u201d – [A.V.C.] <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

His soft speech too is intoxicating. Sri Gouranga Mah\u00e2prabhu has said- <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“Sri Krishna\u2019s sweet speech is a river of nectar. Those ears that have not heard His speech are as worthless as pennies with holes. Such a person has lived in vain.\u201d – [C. C.Madhya.2.28.]<\/span><\/p>\n

Explanation of “Vimba\u2013adhare cha madhuram murali-rave cha.<\/em>\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It means Sri Krishna\u2019s rosy lips are sweet and He is the One Who plays sweet notes on His flute. The Vrajab\u00e2l\u00e2<\/em> thinks that His flute plays so sweetly and drives them crazy because it drinks the honey of His berry-like lips. When they behold Sri Krishna, they get darshan<\/em> of His entire body and hear the song of the flute. It is the zenith of sweetness!\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Our Mah\u00e2jan has sung \u2013 “His rose-tipped eyes are naturally fatal and more so when He casts a crooked glance. As soon as I saw Him, His gaze pierced right through the heart and shattered my self\u2013control. Look sakhi! How He paces the earth! His golden yellow garment flashes like lightning on His finely carved cloud\u2013complexioned body. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

His soft smile and soft speech enkindles the flame of desire in us. This fire is so great that its smoke forces honourable women to run away in scare. But then He blows into the flute with rosy lips, which rages their shame and dignity to ashes. Poet Ghanashy\u00e2m d\u00e2s says – O my precious mind, bring him, O bring him into my heart.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

When we read verse numbers 64, 65 and 66, we realize on our own, how Sriman-Mah\u00e2prabhu must have spoken in love\u2013delirium during His Neel\u00e2chal pastimes. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“One day as the Lord took darshan<\/em> of Sri Jagannath, He could see the very form of Vrajendranandan Sri Krishna. At once, He got a sphuran<\/em> of the five qualities of Govinda. The five qualities attracted His five senses, but then He has just one mind, so when the five qualities tugged his mind in five directions, He fell down unconscious.\u201d\u00a0 <\/span>– [C.C.Antya.15.6-8]<\/span><\/p>\n

The devotees brought the Lord inside Gambhir\u00e2. There He recited a verse to R\u00e2m\u00e2nanda Roy and Swarup\u2013D\u00e2modar describing how the five qualities of Sri Krishna attracted Srimati R\u00e2dh\u00e2r\u00e2ni.\u00a0 <\/span>Sri R\u00e2dh\u00e2 told Vish\u00e2kh\u00e2 –\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

“saundarya\u2013amrita\u2013sindhu\u2013bhanga\u2013lalana\u2013chitt\u00e2dri\u2013saplavakah,<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

karna-\u00e2nandi-sanarma-ramya-vachanah koti-indu-sheet\u00e2ngakah, saurbhya\u2013amrita\u2013sangplava-\u00e2vrita\u2013jagat piyusha\u2013ramy\u00e2\u2013adharah,<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

shri\u2013gopendra-sutah sa karshati bal\u00e2t panchendriy\u00e2ny\u00e2li me<\/span><\/em>.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Sriman-Mah\u00e2prabhu has relished this verse and explained it in ecstasy \u2013<\/span><\/p>\n

“Sri Krishna\u2019s beauty, speech, touch, fragrance and the taste of his lips are all so sweet that I cannot describe it. All five are so tempting while I have but one mind. My mind is like a horse and all of them want to ride it in five different directions. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

My dear sakhi! Please hear the cause of my sorrow! His five qualities are as treacherous as highway robbers are and together they plunder the wayfarer\u2019s booty. My mind is like a horse and they are tugging it in five directions – where will it go? All are pulling it simultaneously \u2013 the poor horse will die, I cannot bear this pain. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I am not angry at my senses \u2013 how can you blame them \u2013 after all, Krishna\u2019s beautiful qualities are all captivating. They are pulling away the life-air from within me and I shall surely die. Krishna\u2019s beauty is an ocean of Amritam<\/em>. A single drop of this ocean submerges all creation. It drowns the Himalayan collection of the hearts of all the women and then rushes forward for more. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Krishna\u2019s sweet speech, full of wit and humour is so unjust, that I cannot tell you. When it enters a woman\u2019s ears, its sweetness tugs at her ears so much that they are ready to fall away. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Krishna\u2019s body is so very cooling that it defeats crores of moons and chandan. It is an expert in captivating the hearts of women; Krishna\u2019s fragrance is such it puts the musk and blue\u2013lotus to shame. It nestles its way through the nostrils of women and attracts them. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Krishna\u2019s lips are like ambrosia while His soft smile is like camphor and the combined sweetness steals the minds of all women. They forget all other temptations and become agitated if they do not get the taste of His lips, for they (the women of Vraja) are the rightful owners of these priceless properties\u201d.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Srila Bhatta Gosw\u00e2mip\u00e2d says, Sri Krishna has revealed His form in the innermost chambers of Sri Lil\u00e2shuk\u2019s heart – a heart that meditates strongly on Sri Krishna. Now in this verse he is praying “When will I actually get to see You?\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n

Why does the poet refer to Sri Krishna as \u2018b\u00e2l\u2019<\/em>?<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Just as b\u00e2l\u00e2<\/em> signifies womankind in general, similarly \u2018b\u00e2l\u2019<\/em> indicates the masculine gender. Although \u2018b\u00e2l<\/em>\u2019 also means \u2018child\u2019 we cannot accept this meaning here since a child cannot be \u2018vil\u00e2s\u2013nidhi<\/em>\u2019 (treasure \u2013 house of love sports). This indicates His masculinity.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
