Whose eyes are moistened with merciful love, Whose sweet honey like lips are always lit up with smiles, Whose head is adorned with peacock\u2013feathers \u2013 only those who have performed countless pious deeds can get darshan of Sri Krishna Who is the Ocean of beauty and sweetness and Who is the primeval Purush. 67<\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

rila Kavir\u00e2j Gosw\u00e2mip\u00e2d says Sri R\u00e2dh\u00e2 was suffering extremely in Sri Krishna\u2019s viraha<\/em>. A kind of humility arose in Her and She congratulated all those who have Sri Krishna\u2019s darshan<\/em>.\u00a0 <\/span>Sri Lil\u00e2shuk has echoed Her humble words in this verse.\u00a0 <\/span>She is saying that only those who have performed lots and many pious deeds can get Sri Krishna\u2019s darshan<\/em> \u2013 That Sri Krishna, the One Who is the primeval Purush.\u00a0 <\/span>Here \u00e2dya purush<\/em><\/strong> means, “The Gopis who are verily the Supreme Laxmis are the beloveds while Vrajendranandan Sri Krishna, the Supreme Purush, is their Lover.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Srila Prabodh\u00e2nanda Saraswatip\u00e2d says, “Even great saints such as Brahm\u00e2, Mah\u00e2dev, Shuka, N\u00e2rad and Bhishma cannot get darshan<\/em> of that Supreme Purush Vrajendranandan so easily.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

In that case, who will get His darshan<\/em>? <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Sri Lil\u00e2shuk is quoting Sri R\u00e2dh\u00e2 – “Only those who have performed lots and lots of pious deeds will get His darshan<\/em>.\u201d Nevertheless, the truth is, Sri Krishna\u2019s darshan<\/em> is not possible by performing any pious deed.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Sri Krishna-darshan<\/em> is possible only if we have love for His Lotus feet.\u00a0 <\/span>The darshan<\/em> of Gopijana-vallabh[1]<\/sup><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a> is especially rare.\u00a0 <\/span>To behold the loving pastimes of Param-purush[2]<\/sup><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a> Sri Krishna with the Gopis, we must be dedicated to the Gopis.\u00a0 <\/span>Hence the words \u2018pious deeds\u2019 in the verse is just a customary speech.\u00a0 <\/span>Just as Devarshi N\u00e2rad has glorified Mother Yashomati \u2014 <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“O Mother of Krishna!\u00a0 <\/span>How can I extol your glory?\u00a0 <\/span>You have performed countless pious deeds by visiting innumerable Holy places and by offering alms, keeping vows and practicing austerities.\u00a0 <\/span>Even Indra, Brahma and Maheshwar cannot get this mercy – That very same Purnabrahma[3]<\/sup><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a> Sri Krishna is rolling on the earth and crying miserably begging you to lift Him on your lap!\u00a0 <\/span>So it is beyond my comprehension how many pious deeds you must have performed.\u201d\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Actually, this was not due to any pious deed but due to extremely deep V\u00e2tsalya-prem[4]<\/sup><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Similarly, Srip\u00e2d Shukamuni has mentioned that Sri Krishna\u2019s sakh\u00e2<\/em>s have performed many pious deeds.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“The gy\u00e2nis<\/em> and yogis<\/em> experience Impersonal Brahman, the servile devotees extol Him as the Supreme Controller and the foolish materialists think He is an ordinary human. However, the Gopa boys started playing with That Swayam Bhagav\u00e2n Sri Krishna!\u00a0 <\/span>They must have performed countless pious deeds.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n

In this manner, it is customary to speak of “lots and lots of pious deeds\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

In some texts, we find \u2018\u00e2karnayanti<\/em><\/strong>\u2019 instead of \u2018\u00e2lokayanti\u2019<\/em><\/strong>.\u00a0 <\/span>In that case the meaning will be, only those who have performed countless pious deeds are fortunate enough to hear Sri Krishna-Kath\u00e2.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Srimad Bh\u00e2gavatam proclaims in the beginning itself – “As soon as a punyav\u00e2n[5]<\/sup><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><\/em> wishes to hear Srimad Bh\u00e2gavatam, Sri Hari is imprisoned in His heart\u201d. \u2013 [Srimad-Bh\u00e2gavatam 1.1.2]<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

When Sri Bhagav\u00e2n is imprisoned in our hearts if we merely wish to hear about Him, then it is needless to say that if we actually hear Sri Krishna Kath\u00e2, He will most certainly be confined in our hearts.\u00a0 <\/span>Moreover, how blessed is he who has His darshan<\/em>!\u00a0 <\/span>We have stated that only the premiks<\/em> can get Sri Krishna\u2019s darshan<\/em>.\u00a0 <\/span>The asuras<\/em> had also seen Sri Krishna, but they had not relished Sri Krishna\u2019s sweetness, since they were devoid of prem<\/em>.\u00a0 <\/span>Instead, their hearts burnt in envy.\u00a0 <\/span>Ordinary materialists, gy\u00e2nis<\/em> and yogis<\/em> too see Him, but they are not so fortunate as to relish Sri Krishna-m\u00e2dhuri<\/em>, since they are devoid of prem<\/em>.\u00a0 <\/span>The \u00c2ch\u00e2ryas say, if we cannot relish Sri Krishna\u2019s sweetness, then even s\u00e2ksh\u00e2tk\u00e2r<\/em> is as useless as no s\u00e2ksh\u00e2tk\u00e2r<\/em>. <\/span><\/p>\n

How is That Sri Krishna? <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

His eyes are moist with love and drip with compassion. Whoever gets his darshan<\/em>, feels \u2013 “Oh! How much love and mercy my sweet Lord is showering on me!\u201d\u00a0 <\/span>Hence, Sri Krishna\u2019s eyes attract everyone.\u00a0 <\/span>In addition, His smile is nectarine.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

His lips are very sweet His sweet smile is extremely attractive to the Vrajab\u00e2l\u00e2s<\/em>.\u00a0 <\/span>The Mah\u00e2jan has said, “My heart swings along with His swaying laughter and I want to sacrifice my youth. Soft smiles play on His rosy lips while He devastates my honour with the corner of His mischievous eyes.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Countless cascades of honey roll down from His laughter! Oh! My darling\u2019s soft smiles are the essence of love.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Srila Bhatta Gosw\u00e2mip\u00e2d has explained, Sri Lil\u00e2shuk is saying – Aho! Sri Krishna\u2019s darshan<\/em> is extremely rare.\u00a0 <\/span>Only those who have performed many pious deeds get His darshan<\/em>. \u2018Krita-punya-punj\u00e2h\u2019<\/em><\/strong> means \u2018those who have collected an enormous pile of pious deeds. \u2018Kritinah<\/em><\/strong>\u2019 means \u2018great achievers\u2019 – they are the ones who get \u00c2dipurush[6]<\/sup><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a> Sri Bhagav\u00e2n\u2019s darshan<\/em>.\u00a0 <\/span>Is Sri N\u00e2r\u00e2yan That \u00c2dipurush?\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
