What is a love-sport?<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2018Keli\u2019 or \u2018love- sport\u2019 is Sri Krishna\u2019s playful pastime with the Vrajadevis<\/em> who are full of sweet ras<\/em>.\u00a0 <\/span>It consists of erotic ras<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

When Srila Bilwamangal Th\u00e2kur saw Sri Krishna\u2019s Mah\u00e2-R\u00e2s<\/em> with three hundred crores of Gopis, he said \u2013”it is the height of all amazing sports.\u201d The R\u00e2s<\/em>-dance is indeed the height of love sports.\u00a0 <\/span>Sri Goursundar said – <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“Sri Krishna sported with R\u00e2dhik\u00e2 and the other Gopis.\u00a0 <\/span>He relished the essence of ras<\/em> to His heart\u2019s content.\u00a0 <\/span>He fulfilled His adolescence with pastimes such as R\u00e2s<\/em>–leel\u00e2<\/em>.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

All the leel\u00e2s<\/em> of Vraja are sweet. Even if Sri Krishna displays His majesty in Vrajadh\u00e2m, the Brijw\u00e2sis are so loving that they relish sweetness even in His majesty.\u00a0 <\/span>However, R\u00e2s<\/em>–leel\u00e2<\/em> is so sweet that Sri Krishna loses Himself completely every time He thinks about it.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

(Sri Krishna said) – “Although I have performed various attractive leel\u00e2s, whenever I think of R\u00e2s<\/em>–leel\u00e2<\/em>, something happens in my heart – I too cannot understand this.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The memory of R\u00e2s<\/em>–leel\u00e2<\/em> enchants the R\u00e2s<\/em>–nayik\u00e2s <\/em>(heroines of the R\u00e2s<\/em> dance, the Gopis) as well.\u00a0 <\/span>When Sri Krishna dispatched His friend Uddhav to console the Gopis during those painful days of viraha<\/em>, the virahini<\/em> Vrajab\u00e2l\u00e2s<\/em> had asked Uddhav-<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2018O Uddhav! It is possible that Your Master has forgotten us after gaining new company in Mathura, but does He remember the nights of the R\u00e2s<\/em>-dance?\u00a0 <\/span>Those nights – the memory of which – makes the heart restless with indescribable madness?\u00a0 <\/span>On that night the full moon had arisen, the moonbeams were cascading from the sky all over Vrind\u00e2van.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In the Yamuna the kumud[1]<\/sup><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a>, kamal[2]<\/sup><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a> <\/em>and kahl\u00e2r<\/em>[3]<\/sup><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a> had bloomed and the blue water of Yamuna had turned white.\u00a0 <\/span>The woods of Vrindavan were agog with Kunda, Mallik\u00e2, J\u00e2ti and Juthi (all white flowers) turning dark Vrindavan into white.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In that romantic Vrind\u00e2van the R\u00e2s<\/em>-dance took place with hundreds of crores of Vrajab\u00e2l\u00e2s<\/em>.\u00a0 <\/span>During the R\u00e2s<\/em>-dance, their anklets, kinkini[4]<\/sup><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><\/em> and bangles jingled so sweetly that they put to shame the musical instruments.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

O best of the Yadus!\u00a0 <\/span>All those damsels with whom He had performed the R\u00e2s<\/em> are no more, for it is impossible that they could be suffering so much\u201d. <\/span><\/p>\n

The Gopis who are saying this are those same R\u00e2s<\/em>-n\u00e2yik\u00e2s, but they are speaking in this manner, since they are lost in the sweet memory of R\u00e2s<\/em>–leel\u00e2<\/em>.\u00a0 <\/span>Hence, we can very well conclude that R\u00e2s<\/em>–n\u00e2yka[5]<\/sup><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><\/em> Sri Krishna is the \u2018height of all amazing love-sports\u2019.<\/span><\/p>\n
