He brought a script of this text to Neel\u00e2chal.\u00a0 In Sri Chaitanya-Charit\u00e2mrita, it is recorded as follows &#8211;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><!--more--><br class=\"spacer_\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>&#8220;tabe mahaprabhu aila\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 krishnabenva tire, <\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>nana tirtha dekhi tanha debamandire <\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em> <\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>brahman samaj sab baishnab charita, <\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>baishnab sakal padhe krishna-karnamrita. <\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em> <\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>karnamrita shuni prabhur ananda hoilo, <\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>agraha koriya punthi lekhaiya nilo. <\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em> <\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>karnamrita sama bastu nahi tribhubane, <\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>jaha hoite hoy shuddha krishna prema gy\u00e2ne. <\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em> <\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>soundarjya &#8211; madhurjya krishna &#8211; lilar abadhi, <\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>se jane je padhe nirabadhi.&#8221; <\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em> <\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Meaning &#8211; &#8220;At last Sriman-Mah\u00e2prabhu<a name=\"_ftnref1\" href=\"#_ftn1\"><sup>1<\/sup><\/a> came to the banks of River Krishnavenva. There He visited the holy places and the temples. The people residing there were Vaishnavs from the Brahmin community. All of them read Sri Krishna-Karn\u00e2mritam regularly. When the Lord heard Karn\u00e2mritam, He was overjoyed and got it copied. He said that there was nothing compared to Karn\u00e2mritam in the whole universe and whosoever reads this text gets pure Krishna-<em>prem<\/em>. He who reads Karn\u00e2mritam regularly truly knows the beauty, sweetness and the divine pastimes of Sri Krishna.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8211; (C.C.2.9)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sriman-Mah\u00e2prabhu got a copy of 112 verses of the first \u2018Shatakam&#8217;<a name=\"_ftnref2\" href=\"#_ftn2\"><sup>2<\/sup><\/a> of Sri Krishna-Karn\u00e2mritam.\u00a0 He brought this to Neel\u00e2chal.\u00a0 During the Gambhir\u00e2 pastimes, the Lord exhibited the mood of the \u2018<em>Virahini<\/em>&#8216;<a name=\"_ftnref3\" href=\"#_ftn3\"><sup>3<\/sup><\/a> Sri R\u00e2dh\u00e2.\u00a0 He used to relish the verses of Sri Geet-Govinda, Sri Krishna-Karn\u00e2mritam, Vidy\u00e2pati, Chandid\u00e2s and the drama Jagann\u00e2th-Vallabh composed by R\u00e2m\u00e2nanda Roy with his most confidential associates such as Swarup-D\u00e2modar and R\u00e2m\u00e2nanda. Sri Chaitanya Charit\u00e2mrita mentions &#8211;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>&#8220;chandid\u00e2s, vidy\u00e2pati, r\u00e2yer n\u00e2takagiti, <\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>karn\u00e2mrita, sri geet gobinda , <\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>swarupa-r\u00e2m\u00e2n\u00e2nda sane, mah\u00e2prabhu r\u00e2tri-dine, <\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>g\u00e2y shune parama \u00e2nanda.&#8221; <\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Srila Kavir\u00e2j Gosw\u00e2mi has described the Lord&#8217;s Gambhir\u00e2 pastimes in the 2<sup>nd<\/sup> chapter of Madhya Lili\u00e2 of Sri Chaitanya-Charit\u00e2mrita. In this, he has stated that the Lord has relished verse numbers 41, 32, 40 and 68 of Karn\u00e2mritam, in this order. He relished verse number 92 in the 21<sup>st<\/sup> Chapter of Madhya Lil\u00e2 and verse number 42 in the 17<sup>th<\/sup> Chapter of Antya Lil\u00e2.\u00a0 He has even expressed the sweet meaning of the verses in an extra ordinary manner while lamenting in the mood of R\u00e2dh\u00e2r\u00e2ni.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">True to its name, Sri Krishna-Karn\u00e2mritam is indeed a most relishing \u2018<em>Amritam&#8217; <\/em>(nectar) in the treasury of Sanskrit literature.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><br class=\"spacer_\" \/>Such supreme literature is very rare. Its mood is easy to grasp, it is full of relish and most supreme. Its language is pure, stylish and sweet. Its words are so woven as to enchant the reader. It is not only something worth reading or worth hearing &#8211; it is a great treasure of high-level <em>bh\u00e2v-s\u00e2dhan\u00e2<\/em><a name=\"_ftnref4\" href=\"#_ftn4\"><sup>4<\/sup><\/a>. Sri Krishna&#8217;s beauty is extremely sweet and so are His pastimes. Sri Krishna Karn\u00e2mritam is a non-stop flow of both!! It is full of very serious, confidential and topmost ingredients of spiritual <em>ras<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Hence, we can realize it only by practicing devotion under the merciful guidance of Sri Guru and Vaishnavs. The title of Sri Lil\u00e2shuk has been conferred on the poet because he has relished the nectarine pastimes of Sri Krishna just like Sri Shukadev, who was the orator of Srimad-Bh\u00e2gavatam.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">THE APPEARANCE OF SRI BILVAMANGAL AND THE YEAR IN WHICH THIS TEXT WAS COMPOSED<\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Opinions differ vastly about the year in which Bilvamangal Th\u00e2kur appeared and this text was composed.\u00a0 According to the Keralites, he was the disciple of Srip\u00e2d Padm\u00e2ch\u00e2rya and the grand disciple of Srip\u00e2d Shankar. If we accept the above statement, he has to belong to the ninth century AD.\u00a0 However, Sri Bilvamangal has not mentioned Sri Shankar as part of his Guru Parampar\u00e2 anywhere.\u00a0 According to Dr.Winterniz Sri Lil\u00e2shuk belongs to the 11<sup>th<\/sup> Century.\u00a0 But we cannot accept this either since Sridhar D\u00e2s of Beng\u00e2l had compiled 2370 verses written by 465 poets in a text called \u2018Sadukti Karn\u00e2mrita&#8217;. Yet he had not quoted any verse of Sri Bilvamangal in his text. Had Lil\u00e2shuk belonged to the ninth or eleventh century Sridhar D\u00e2s would have surely quoted his priceless verses in Sadukti Karn\u00e2mrita.\u00a0 The poet Sri R\u00e2makrishna says that Lil\u00e2shuk appeared between 1250 and 1350, since Bilvamangal had quoted Vyopdev in his purport to a text in grammar called \u2018Purush\u00e2kar&#8217;.\u00a0 Vyopdev had appeared in 1250 AD.\u00a0 Bhojadev, Hemachandra and Vyopdev belonged to the 11<sup>th<\/sup>, 12<sup>th<\/sup> and 13<sup>th<\/sup> centuries respectively.\u00a0 We feel that Sri Lil\u00e2shuk had appeared after they did.\u00a0 Dr.Sushil Kumar De is not ready to accept Lil\u00e2shuk, the grammarian, and Lil\u00e2shuk the creator of Krishna-Karn\u00e2mritam as one and the same person.\u00a0 Nevertheless, we find that the 4<sup>th<\/sup> verse of the 2<sup>nd<\/sup> Shatakam of Sri Krishna Karn\u00e2mritam says,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>&#8220;m\u00e2tar-n\u00e2tah param-anuchitam yat-khal\u00e2n\u00e2m purastad\u00e2-, <\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>sta-shank\u00e2n jathara-pithari-purtaye n\u00e2rti-tasi<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>tat-ishantavyam sahaja &#8211; sarale vatsale v\u00e2ni kury\u00e2m,<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em> pr\u00e2yashchittam guna-g\u00e2na-naya gopa-veshasya vishnoh.&#8221; <\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Meaning &#8211; &#8220;O Mother Saraswati! Without fearing you, I have made my words dance for the pleasure of wicked people in order to fill my belly. There is nothing more sinful than this. You are simple, pure and motherly. Please forgive my sins. Now I shall atone for all my sins by extolling the glory of Sri Bhagav\u00e2n Who performed His pastimes as a cowherd boy.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">From this, it is easy to discern that earlier Lil\u00e2shuk did earn his living by writing purports to grammar and later on composed Sri Krishna-Karn\u00e2mritam.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">When we find different books written in the same century by the same name, then we feel it is not wrong to decipher that the author is the same.
