Sri Krishna is approaching me with His elephant-like gait, gazing at me all the while. He is unfurling very sweet wavelets of the flute-song while He is coming near me. He is laughing and He is so close I can see His sparkling white teeth.80. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

“When will that merciful Kishor<\/em> look at me with His sportive, soothing, ras-full<\/em>, wonderful blue-and-rosy amorous lotus-eyes?\u201d <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Now that Sri Krishna has answered his prayer, he is reciting this verse in ecstasy. Sri Krishna is gazing at me from afar. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

How is His gaze?<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Mercy is flowing from His eyes. He is gazing at me with eyes that are \u2013 \u2018r\u00e2dh\u00e2-kat\u00e2ksha-bharitena\u2019<\/em><\/strong> (Srila Kavir\u00e2j Gosw\u00e2mip\u00e2d has added) \u2013 Sri R\u00e2dh\u00e2 cherishes His gaze.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

How is He?<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

He is \u2018v\u00e2rana-keli-g\u00e2mi\u2019<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 He is coming near me with a slow elephant like gait. His movements are full of passion. His face is resplendent with wavelets of sweetness radiating from the flute. His beautiful face is illuminated still further with His sparkling white teeth that are shining through His natural soft laughter. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

How is His face looking?<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

It seems as if it is the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna and the Saras<\/em>wati. His teeth are white like the Ganga, the dark amorous eyes are like the Yamun\u00e2 and the radiance of His lips is like the Saras<\/em>wati. When these three rivers meet, the water surges high. In the same manner, His face too is reflecting great exultation.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Sri Krishna is fulfilling everything that Sri Lil\u00e2shuk had begged at His lotus-feet. The devotee desires Sri Krishna – it is true.\u00a0 <\/span>The devotee\u2019s anxiety and eagerness arouse a desire in Sri Bhagav\u00e2n. What is that desire? Sri Bhagav\u00e2n wishes to bring His devotee close. Bhakti<\/em> is such an intensely blissful potency that makes both the bhakta <\/em>and Sri Bhagav\u00e2n deeply attached to one other. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Sri Bhagav\u00e2n belongs to His devotee. He is not the Brahman Whom the gy\u00e2ni<\/em> worships \u2013 Who cannot express any pleasure. He is not indifferent like Param\u00e2tm\u00e2 Whom the yogi worships. He<\/span> <\/span><\/span>is Sri Bhagav\u00e2n, the treasure trove of kindness and love for His devotees.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Sri Bhatta Gosw\u00e2mip\u00e2d explains, now Sri Lil\u00e2shuk has seen Sri Krishna coming from afar and has described Him in this verse. Sri Krishna is looking at him with a special gaze. How is that gaze? It is \u2018r\u00e2dh\u00e2-kat\u00e2ksha-bharitena\u2019 <\/em><\/strong>– cherished by Sri R\u00e2dh\u00e2. This indicates that the poet is beholding Sri Sri R\u00e2dh\u00e2-Krishna together. Aho! I am so fortunate! <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

He is \u2018v\u00e2rana-keli-g\u00e2mi\u2019<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 slow paced like an elephant. When Sri Krishna came closer, he said, “Look! His face is overflowing with the nectar of the heart stealing flute!\u201d <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

How does He look? He is radiant, displaying sparkling white teeth. How is He? He is That very same Sri Krishna \u2013 Whose nature is to play the mesmerizing flute.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Srila Chaitanya d\u00e2s Gosw\u00e2mip\u00e2d says, Sri Lil\u00e2shuk has described Govinda\u2019s benevolence in this verse. Shyamsundar is gazing at me with merciful glance \u2013 that is the source of good fortune. Not only is He looking at me, but He is also coming towards me. How? With a pace as slow as that of an elephant. The flute is enjoined to His face \u2013 yes, the same heart-wrenching flute. The poet has described His face \u2013 that is resplendent with various hues like the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna and the Saras<\/em>wati.80.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
