ll of a sudden Sri Krishna\u2019s unbounded ocean of sweetness surged before Sri Lil\u00e2shuk. Srila Krishnad\u00e2s Kavir\u00e2j Gosw\u00e2mi says: The expansive ocean of sweetness drowned his heart; the tremendous effect of divine sweetness astounded him. He thought, “How shall I express a drop of this ocean?\u201d He was swept over by such an amazing sweetness that he could not express even a drop of it. Then all he could do is to chant \u2018madhuram madhuram\u2019<\/em><\/strong> (sweet sweet).<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Sri Krishna\u2019s body is \u2018madhuram madhuram<\/em>\u2019 \u2013 very very sweet. His pure face is the treasure casket of all sweetness. The poet was astonished. He shook his head in disbelief and said, “His face is \u2018madhuram madhuram madhuram\u2019<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 sweeter than very sweet. When he saw the all-enchanting smile playing on Sri Krishna\u2019s face, he pointed at it and exclaimed, “madhuram madhuram madhuram madhuram\u201d <\/em><\/strong>\u2013 sweetest of all !!!<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

How is His smile?<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

His face is like a lotus that maddens the universe with its sweet scent. His smile is the honey of that lotus \u2013 the source of the maddening aroma, and it intoxicates everyone, especially the Brajasundaris.\u00a0 <\/span>Saint poet Chandid\u00e2s has quoted a Brajab\u00e2l\u00e2<\/em> in the purva-r\u00e2g<\/em> state – <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

“I saw That Shy\u00e2m Who is like countless K\u00e2mdevs put together and His face conquers the moon. His eyebrows arch like bows that shoot arrows (glances) with the eyes, while His smile pours out abundant honey.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Shoi<\/span>[1]<\/sup><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a>, K\u00e2no is so beautiful that if a chaste woman sees Him, she rejects her husband, thus forsaking shame, fear and self-respect.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Some great sculptor has made Him such that His body is like the arrow of K\u00e2mdev. He has sculpted Him to annihilate the decency and self-control of young maidens.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The expanse of His chest is very much decorated and sparkles like a mirror. On top of that, He wears a garland of wild flowers \u2013 the beauty is unparalleled! <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

A line of hair travels upwards from His navel like a beautiful and dangerous serpentess. His eyebrows glow like the rainbow as if they are the bows of K\u00e2mdev. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

His toenails are so radiant that it seems as if they are reflecting the moon. In addition He wears brilliant gem studded anklets \u2013 it is but natural for Chandid\u00e2s\u2019s heart to start throbbing.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Srila Krishnad\u00e2s Kavir\u00e2j Gosw\u00e2mi says: Sri Krishna has drunk honey (He has kissed Sri R\u00e2dh\u00e2 and drunk from Her honey like lips) during the divine amorous dalliance. Sriman-Mah\u00e2prabhu has poured the ras<\/em> of Sri Krishna\u2019s sweetness for Srila San\u00e2tan Gosw\u00e2mi. The Lord has relished this verse from Sri Krishna-Karn\u00e2mritam and has explained it in the following manner \u2013<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

“O San\u00e2tan!\u00a0 <\/span>Krishna\u2019s sweetness is an ocean of nectar.\u00a0 <\/span>My heart is like a typhoid\u2013patient.\u00a0 <\/span>It wishes to drink up the entire ocean but Dr. Misfortune<\/span>[2]<\/sup><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a> does not allow me to drink a single drop.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Krishna\u2019s body is full of sweetness. And His moon like face is sweeter than sweet. And His moonlight smile is sweeter than sweeter than sweet. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

He is sweeter than sweet, even more sweet than that, still sweeter than that.\u00a0 <\/span>A single drop of this sweetness immerses the entire Creation and the sweetness floods all directions. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

His smile is so sweet \u2013 it is as if moonbeams are mixed with exquisite camphor and it is flavoured with the sweetness of His lips – a honey that intoxicates the three worlds. The excellence of the flute cascades out of its pores in the form of divine sound vibration and pervades the sky.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>It rushes in all directions, it pierces the boundary of this universe, reaches Vaikuntha and it forces its way into everyone\u2019s ears. It intoxicates one and all.\u00a0 <\/span>It forcibly catches and brings one near, especially the young damsels.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The song of the flute is very impudent.\u00a0 <\/span>It breaks the marital vow of chaste women and pulls them from the lap of their husbands. The flute attracts the Laxmis of Vaikuntha, what to speak of the Gopis.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

It slackens the skirt-strings of women in front of their husbands, forces them to abandon household duties and using its might, drags them to Krishna. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

It makes one forget the societal norms, shame and fear.\u00a0 <\/span>It makes all women dance to its tune in this manner. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

It nestles inside the ears, and keeps on echoing \u2013 it does not allow other sounds to enter. The ears do not hear anything else, you want to say one thing but end up uttering something else, and such is the characteristic of the flute.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Srila Bhatta Gosw\u00e2mip\u00e2d says: Sri Lil\u00e2shuk has recited this verse because he is relishing Sri Krishna\u2019s extraordinary sweetness at every moment. Sri Krishna has innumerable forms, yet He looks the loveliest when He performs amorous sports with Sri R\u00e2dh\u00e2. We see in Stavam\u00e2l\u00e2 Govinda-virud\u00e2vali (2)-\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

“Sri Krishna is Madan-Mohan (the One Who hypnotises the Love-god Madan) only when He is with Srimati R\u00e2dh\u00e2r\u00e2ni. When R\u00e2dh\u00e2 does not accompany Him, He may hold the universe spellbound, yet He Himself is hypnotised by Madan.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Sri Krishna\u2019s body is sweet. His radiant face is sweeter than sweet. His gaze is very expressive. He conveys sweet messages with His gaze. His smile is sweeter than the extremely sweet. It is a constant flow of sweetness. It has a wonderful fragrance \u2013 madhu-gandhi-mridu-smitam <\/em><\/strong>–<\/em> that makes everyone dizzy with love.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Srila Chaitanya d\u00e2s Gosw\u00e2mi says: Sri Lil\u00e2shuk has described Sri Krishna\u2019s exquisiteness while He was sporting with Srimati R\u00e2dh\u00e2r\u00e2ni. He is Vibhu \u2013 the One Who delighted everyone during the R\u00e2s dance. Although His form is very sweet and supremely relishing, He becomes sweeter when He performs loving sports with Srimati R\u00e2dh\u00e2r\u00e2ni. After kissing Srimati, the fragrant honey like ras <\/em>is transferred onto His lips. This makes His smile sweet sweet sweet sweet \u2013 exceedingly sweet. Srip\u00e2d Prabodh\u00e2nanda Saras<\/em>watip\u00e2d has written –<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
