Just as the Presidents of the four Maths established by Shankar\u00e2ch\u00e2rya are conferred the title of \u2018Shankar\u00e2ch\u00e2rya&#8217;, the president of the Natville Math is given the title \u2018Bilvamangal Sw\u00e2miy\u00e2r&#8217;.\u00a0 The sany\u00e2sis of this Math reserve the right to offer flowers before anyone else in the Padman\u00e2bha Mandir of Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum).\u00a0<!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">However, Srila Kavir\u00e2j Gosw\u00e2mip\u00e2d has stated that Lil\u00e2shuk resided on the Western banks of River Krishnavenv\u00e2. That branch of River Krishn\u00e2 (arisen from Mah\u00e2baleshwar in the Sahy\u00e2dri Mountains) that meets Bay of Beng\u00e2l to the South of Machhalipatam is called River Krishnaveni or Bhim\u00e2.\u00a0 Hence, Nidal, B\u00e2l\u00e2, Sulap\u00e2 etc. that are situated in the West of Sol\u00e2pur are the regions indicated by Srila Kavir\u00e2j Gosw\u00e2mi. Srila Kavir\u00e2j Gosw\u00e2mi has written in his S\u00e2ranga Rangad\u00e2 purport that Sri Bilvamangal was a learned, top-level poet and brahmin residing on the banks of River Krishnavenv\u00e2.\u00a0 In the early part of his life, he had become addicted to a prostitute called Chint\u00e2mani who was a talented singer and danseuse. She lived on the eastern bank of the same river. It was a dark monsoon night, on the last day of mourning for his father&#8217;s death. In spite of this, he crossed the agitated and surging Krishnavenv\u00e2 with lots of difficulty by taking the support of a dead body, only to find Chint\u00e2mani&#8217;s gates closed.\u00a0 A snake had inserted half its body inside a crevice in the wall.\u00a0 Bilvamangal caught hold of its tail, mistaking it for a rope, climbed the wall and fell unconscious in the compound.\u00a0 Chint\u00e2mani&#8217;s maidservants came to know how Bilvamangal had come to be in this state.\u00a0 Due to their care, when he regained consciousness, Chint\u00e2mani lamented thus &#8211; &#8220;Shame on me! I am such a sinner!\u00a0 How I have cheated men of their wealth and love.\u00a0 O son of a brahmin, how anxious you are to meet me! Had you possessed the same eagerness for Sri Bhagav\u00e2n then how wonderful it would have been! From tomorrow I shall forsake everything and only perform Sri Krishna<em>-bhajan<\/em><a name=\"_ftnref1\" href=\"#_ftn1\"><sup>1<\/sup><\/a>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sri Bilvamangal too started reviewing his situation. During the night, he heard the glorification of <em>R\u00e2s Lil\u00e2<\/em> and other pastimes from Chint\u00e2mani.\u00a0 The seed of love acquired from his earlier births, sprouted in his heart and attracted him solely towards adoring the lotus feet of Sri R\u00e2dh\u00e2&#8217;s Beloved (Sri Krishna).\u00a0 In the morning, he paid obeisance to Chint\u00e2mani and approached Somagiri, a Vaishnav.\u00a0 He narrated everything about himself and obtained the <em>mantra<\/em> of Sriman-Madan-Gop\u00e2l.\u00a0 Since he had deep <em>anur\u00e2g<\/em><a name=\"_ftnref2\" href=\"#_ftn2\"><sup>2<\/sup><\/a>, he showed the signs of <em>bh\u00e2v <\/em>such as tears and goose flesh as soon as he obtained the <em>mantra<\/em>.\u00a0 Although he was anxious to go to Vrind\u00e2van, he stayed on for some days to serve his Spiritual Master.\u00a0 There he composed a few books describing the pastimes of Sri Krishna. Impressed by his devotional state, Somagiri conferred the title \u2018Lil\u00e2shuk&#8217; on him.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">At last, he took the permission of Sri Gurudev and started for Sridh\u00e2m Vrind\u00e2van.\u00a0 On the way, he became overwhelmed by the high tide of <em>prem<a name=\"_ftnref3\" href=\"#_ftn3\"><strong><sup>3<\/sup><\/strong><\/a><\/em> and was filled with tremendous longing for His sweet Lord (later on, he would find life meaningless without Sri Krishna). Gradually, when he reached Mathur\u00e2, he was inspired by special Divine Pastimes and literally went mad after which he became ever thankful when he actually met Sri Krishna.\u00a0 Sri Krishna-Karn\u00e2mritam, a gem of a text, is the result of all those utterings in a love-crazy state.
