karn\u00e2n\u00e2m vivareshu k\u00e2mapi sudh\u00e2-vridhtin duh\u00e2nam muhuh,<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

vany\u00e2n\u00e2n-sudrish\u00e2m mano-nayanar-magnasya devasya nah<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Aho! Sri Krishna-Karn\u00e2mritam is the love-text that pleasures the ears and the tongue of our Lord, from Whom the beautiful doe-eyed Gopis never shift their gaze. It relentlessly showers nectar in the auditory canals of the glorious and blessed devotees. May they relish this masterpiece while delighting in Krishna-kath\u00e2 ! 111.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

rila Krishnad\u00e2s Kavir\u00e2j Gosw\u00e2mi says:<\/span> Sri Krishna told the poet with a voice brimming in love, “O Lil\u00e2shuk, your text Sri Krishna-Karn\u00e2mritam will naturally be nectarine to me, my beloveds and to my rasik<\/em> and vidagdha<\/em> devotees. Harbour no doubt about it. Yet, I shall grant your prayer with \u2018tath\u00e2stu\u2019<\/em> \u2013 so be it!\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Sri Lil\u00e2shuk was mad with joy when he heard this. Of course, he ought to be, for if Sri Krishna, the Brijw\u00e2sis who are the crest-jewels amongst His devotees, and all other honourable ras<\/em>ik devotees, relish a devotee\u2019s poem simultaneously and Sri Krishna Himself declares it with His Holy Mouth, then is there anything more pleasurable? The poet exclaimed, “My Lord! It is my great fortune that You will enjoy my composition! You are the crest-jewel of all the connoisseurs who are experts in the ras<\/em> of art and love! <\/em>\u00a0<\/span>And You say You will take pleasure in my verses?\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Sri Krishna asked, “A text that contains such sweet poetry describing the pangs of separation, the joy of union, lamentations and conversations will definitely be pleasurable. What is so surprising about it?\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Sri Lil\u00e2shuk spoke in ecstasy, “Of course it is astonishing! When You are separated from the doe-eyed Gopis, Your mind is absorbed in them. When You are united with them, then too Your eyes never leave them. At these moments, You will delight in my poem \u2013 is it not surprising? One more point. Your beloveds are such experts that even Laxmi devi envies them. You always love to hear from your devotees \u2013 they may speak well or ill \u2013 You never do care, as long as they speak about You. However, if this text pours Amritam<\/em> in the ears of Your beloveds, then it is truly wonderful.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Sri Krishna brushed him aside. “Look, I don\u2019t think it is remarkable, since your lamentations are akin to the wailings of the Gopis. So, they are bound to enjoy it.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The poet said, “Prabho, not only the Gopis, from Your benediction I learnt that Your devotees too will delight in my poem. My Lord! You are always compassionate. It is easy to please You. However, it involves a lot of s\u00e2dhan\u00e2<\/em> to satisfy Your devotees, You know? In this world, Your bhaktas are hallowed. If it is pleasurable to their ears, then it is very amazing indeed!\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Sri Krishna differed in His opinion. “It is not so very amazing\u201d, He said, “Since they have never heard anything like this before.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Sri Lil\u00e2shuk cut Him short, “Prabho, Your devotees are always absorbed in the blissful conversation about Your beauty, excellences and pastimes. They float in the perfumed waves of Bhakti-ras<\/em>. Poems such as this are nothing new for them. Your Lordship has Himself mentioned in Srimad Bhagavad-Git\u00e2 \u2013<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

“The devotees whose heart and soul are surrendered unto me alone, they always explain about me to one another and gain supreme satisfaction and bliss by extolling my sweet, ras-full<\/em> qualities and pastimes.\u201d <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Srila Bhatta Gosw\u00e2mip\u00e2d has accepted \u2018Sri Krishna-Karn\u00e2mritam\u2019<\/em><\/strong><\/span> instead of \u2018krishnasya karn\u00e2mritam\u2019.<\/em><\/strong> In this case, the meaning becomes \u2018O rasik<\/em> devotees! Please relish this Sri Krishna-Karn\u00e2mritam that is nectarine to the ears of Sri Sri R\u00e2dh\u00e2-Krishna. How much can I glorify it! It showers inexpressibly sweet torrents of Amritam<\/em> in the auditory canals of blessed (those who steadfast in the confidential bh\u00e2v<\/em> of Sri Krishna) devotees.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>How are these fortunate ones?<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

They are \u2018saras\u00e2nula-apasarani sourabhy\u00e2m-abhysyat\u00e2ng\u2019<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 always immersed in the bliss of Krishna-Kath\u00e2. The talks of Sri Krishna\u2019s amorous pastimes are like fragrant waves and these devotees are constantly floating in it.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

How is Sri Krishna-Karn\u00e2mritam?<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

It is \u2018vany\u00e2n\u00e2n-sudrish\u00e2m mano-nayanar-magnasya devasya nahkarn\u00e2n\u00e2m vachas\u00e2m vijrimbhitam-aho krishnasya karn\u00e2mritam\u2019<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 rains Amritam<\/em> in the ears of our Lord Sri Krishna, Who completely steals the heart and the gaze of the lovely and passionate maidens of Sri Vrind\u00e2ban.111.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
