This indicates that the lover has reached the state of r\u00e2g.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sneha, maan, pranay and r\u00e2g &#8211; all have variety. For instance, there are two kinds of sneha &#8211;<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Ghrita-sneha<a name=\"_ftnref1\" href=\"#_ftn1\"><sup>1<\/sup><\/a> (sneha resembling clarified butter)<\/li>\n<li>Madhu-sneha<a name=\"_ftnref2\" href=\"#_ftn2\"><sup>2<\/sup><\/a> (sneha that is akin to honey)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Maan is also of two types &#8211;<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\" type=\"disc\">\n<li>Ud\u00e2tta-maan<a name=\"_ftnref3\" href=\"#_ftn3\"><sup>3<\/sup><\/a><\/li>\n<li>Lalito-maan<a name=\"_ftnref4\" href=\"#_ftn4\"><sup>4<\/sup><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Pranay is of two types &#8211;<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\" type=\"disc\">\n<li>Maitra-pranay<a name=\"_ftnref5\" href=\"#_ftn5\"><sup>5<\/sup><\/a><\/li>\n<li>Sakhya-pranay<a name=\"_ftnref6\" href=\"#_ftn6\"><sup>6<\/sup><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">There are further classifications of these moods. R\u00e2g too has various categories.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Srimati R\u00e2dh\u00e2r\u00e2ni expresses the second of all the above-mentioned qualities. These attributes are higher than the first ones. The first qualities express &#8211; &#8220;I belong to you&#8221; (the sweetheart thinks she belongs to Sri Krishna), while the second qualities show &#8211; &#8220;You belong to me&#8221; or Sri Krishna belongs to me. Chandr\u00e2vali displays all the first qualities while Srimati R\u00e2dh\u00e2r\u00e2ni has the second ones. All the qualities of Srimati R\u00e2dh\u00e2r\u00e2ni are present in the sakhis belonging to Her group since they are Her expansions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sri Krishna&#8217;s eternal associates (nitya-siddha) are the embodiments of His swarup shakti. The above-mentioned qualities are present in them since eternity. The devotees who become His associates after attaining success in s\u00e2dhan\u00e2 gain the necessary qualities only after accomplishment. We call them s\u00e2dhan-siddha. When the s\u00e2dhak-body breaks up, he is born in the home of a cowherd (\u00e2hiri-gop) wherever Sri Krishna is performing His divine pastimes at the moment. There he gains transcendental body. He associates with the eternal associates who are in the same mood as he is in. Their mood transmits into him.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<table border=\"0\" cellspacing=\"0\" cellpadding=\"0\" width=\"100%\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td>\n<h3>Anur\u00e2g<\/h3>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;When a lover is at the height of r\u00e2g and expresses newer and newer colorful moods and he experiences his beloved in novel manners each moment, we call that stage as \u2018anur\u00e2g&#8217;.&#8221; &#8211; (U.N.)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This means that anur\u00e2g is &#8220;deep r\u00e2g&#8221;. When the lover attains the stage of mature r\u00e2g, his moods become all the more colorful, variegated and gains novel hues. Although he did realize his beloved Sri Krishna&#8217;s sweet beauty and excellence earlier too, now he relishes them afresh &#8211; as if he had never relished them before. As a result the devotee&#8217;s temptation to relish Sri Krishna&#8217;s sweetness increases tremendously. Then &#8220;the thirst is not satiated, the thirst increases constantly&#8221; &#8211; (C.C. Aadi.4.149).The devotee reaches such a state. It is true that anur\u00e2g makes us realize Sri Krishna Whom we were relishing constantly earlier as if we are seeing Him or hearing about Him for the first time!!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sri Ujjwal-Neelmani describes the characteristics of anur\u00e2g as follows &#8211;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;(1) The lovers are subjugated to each other. (2)Their love attains \u2018prem-vaichittya&#8217;. (3) We extremely crave even to become inanimate objects to relish Sri Krishna&#8217;s sweetness and (4) We get His visphurti in viraha.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<table border=\"0\" cellspacing=\"0\" cellpadding=\"0\" width=\"100%\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td>\n<h3>(1) The lovers are subjugated to each other<\/h3>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Srimat Jiva Gosw\u00e2mip\u00e2d explains the above statement &#8211;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;In prem too the lovers are subjugated to each other, yet the subordination is distinct in anur\u00e2g; it is newer and newer each moment.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Srila Vishwan\u00e2th Chakravartip\u00e2d says &#8211; &#8220;In prem, clearly the lovers are subordinate to each other. However, the sweetheart maiden is not much subjugated since she feels shy and is reluctant to make any overture. On the other hand, in anur\u00e2g, we see that the sweetheart is so thirsty for Sri Krishna that she is rid of all feminine bashfulness and is completely overpowered. Thus the subjugation in anur\u00e2g is distinct from that in prem.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<table border=\"0\" cellspacing=\"0\" cellpadding=\"0\" width=\"100%\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td>\n<h3>(2)Their love attains \u2018prem-vaichittya&#8217;.<\/h3>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">When a devotee reaches the stage of anur\u00e2g, he expresses a certain mood called \u2018prem-vaichittya&#8217;. Srila Rupa Gosw\u00e2mip\u00e2d explains &#8211;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;When love surges high, even though the lover is very close to the beloved, she yearns and grieves for him thinking he is far from her &#8211; this is \u2018prem-vaichittya&#8217;.&#8221; &#8211; (U.N.)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The lover craves for Sri Krishna so much in anur\u00e2g, that in spite of lying on His lap she feels the pangs of viraha. This is a remarkable miracle in the Empire of Love.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;rasabati boithi rasikoboro p\u00e2sh,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">ro-i koho-i dhani biroho hut\u00e2sh,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00e2r ki milobo mohe roshomoy shy\u00e2m,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">biroho jaladhi koto pourobo ham.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">nikotohi n\u00e2ho n\u00e2 hero-i r\u00e2i,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">sahachari koto parabodhai t\u00e2-i.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">k\u00e2nu chamaki tobo r\u00e2i koru kor,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">gobinda d\u00e2sa heri bhelo bhor.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Meaning &#8211; &#8220;Rasavati<a name=\"_ftnref7\" href=\"#_ftn7\"><sup>7<\/sup><\/a> R\u00e2dh\u00e2r\u00e2ni sat close to Sri Krishna Who is the greatest of all rasiks. And just see what my Precious Darling did &#8211; She wept and said sighing heavily writhing in the pangs of separation &#8211; \u2018Will I ever get Shy\u00e2m Who is full of ras?&#8217; Although She was so close to Him She could not see Him. The sakhis were trying their level best to console her and make Her see reason. K\u00e2nu was shocked and drew Her onto His lap, and when poet Gobinda d\u00e2s saw this he was immersed in joy.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<hr size=\"1\" \/><\/h3>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a name=\"_ftn1\" href=\"#_ftnref1\"><\/a><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<h3><a name=\"_ftn1\" href=\"#_ftnref1\"><sup>1<\/sup><\/a><\/h3>\n<p><a name=\"_ftn1\" href=\"#_ftnref1\">Ghrita-sneha &#8211; This sneha is full of loving care; however ghee tastes well only when you add it with some other ingredient like sugar etc. Similarly this sneha gives Sri Krishna pleasure when the lover also expresses other bh\u00e2vs along with sneha &#8211; like envy, pride etc.<\/a><\/p>\n<div>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a name=\"_ftn2\" href=\"#_ftnref2\"><\/a><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a name=\"_ftn2\" href=\"#_ftnref2\"><\/a><\/h3>\n<h3><a name=\"_ftn2\" href=\"#_ftnref2\"><sup>2<\/sup><\/a><\/h3>\n<p><a name=\"_ftn2\" href=\"#_ftnref2\">Madhu-sneha &#8211; Honey is relishing on its own. It is thick. Hence this sneha is much deeper than the ghrita-sneha.<\/a><\/p>\n<div>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a name=\"_ftn3\" href=\"#_ftnref3\"><\/a><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a name=\"_ftn3\" href=\"#_ftnref3\"><\/a><\/h3>\n<h3><a name=\"_ftn3\" href=\"#_ftnref3\"><sup>3<\/sup><\/a><\/h3>\n<p><a name=\"_ftn3\" href=\"#_ftnref3\">Ud\u00e2tta-maan &#8211; The sweetheart possessing \u2018ghrita-sneha&#8217; express this sort of maan. She is generous externally, but adverse internally. E.g. Chandr\u00e2vali<\/a><\/p>\n<div>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a name=\"_ftn4\" href=\"#_ftnref4\"><\/a><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a name=\"_ftn4\" href=\"#_ftnref4\"><\/a><\/h3>\n<h3><a name=\"_ftn4\" href=\"#_ftnref4\"><sup>4<\/sup><\/a><\/h3>\n<p><a name=\"_ftn4\" href=\"#_ftnref4\">Lalito-maan &#8211; The sweetheart possessing \u2018madhu-sneha&#8217; express this sort of maan. She has no barrier and expresses vary sweet sarcasm and witty remarks. E.g. Srimati R\u00e2dh\u00e2r\u00e2ni<\/a><\/p>\n<div>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a name=\"_ftn5\" href=\"#_ftnref5\"><\/a><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a name=\"_ftn5\" href=\"#_ftnref5\"><\/a><\/h3>\n<h3><a name=\"_ftn5\" href=\"#_ftnref5\"><sup>5<\/sup><\/a><\/h3>\n<p><a name=\"_ftn5\" href=\"#_ftnref5\">Maitra-pranay &#8211; Here the vishrambha is mingles with some degree of hesitation. E.g. When Sri Krishna reappeared in the R\u00e2s-leel\u00e2 (after His disappearance), a Gopi joyously caught His hand, while another one placed His arm around her shoulder.
