Do\u00a0i hold\u00a0myself to the standards of other people, wishing\u00a0i could be better than the next devotee ? Maybe this is motivating me, but an even greater skill is to just want to be better than myself. How about pushing myself to chant better, or wake up earlier each day? Goal setting \u2013 \u2018s\u00e2dhya\u2019 – is a great way to “compete\u201d against myself. Let me select the end result that i want in any intensity that i choose. Then, it is up to me, and only me, to work to achieve those devotional goals. Thus, i\u2019ll be pushing myself towards greatness, towards Bhagavat-prem and not creating unnecessary competition against others.
