They arrange these <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">leel\u00e2s<\/em> and without them it is impossible for these pastimes to become enjoyable. The <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">sakhis<\/em> arrange the pastimes and they are the ones who relish them. No one other than the <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">sakhis<\/em> can partake of these <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">leel\u00e2s<\/em>. Therefore it is necessary for a devotee who wishes to serve R\u00e2dh\u00e2-Krishna in the <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">kunja<\/em>, to surrender unto the <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">sakhis<\/em>, and follow in their footsteps. The <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">pr\u00e2n-sakhis<\/em> and <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">nitya-sakhis<\/em> such as Kasturi and Mani-manjari are R\u00e2dh\u00e2-<em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">sneh\u00e2dhik\u00e2 <\/em>that is they love Sri R\u00e2dh\u00e2 more than they love Sri Krishna. They are also called <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">manjaris<\/em>. This is a special Kaliyug since Sri Sri Gour\u00e2nga Mah\u00e2prabhu has appeared in this <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">yug.<\/em> The Gosw\u00e2mis such as Sri Rupa, San\u00e2tan, and Raghun\u00e2th etc. have performed <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">bhajan<\/em> following in His footsteps. They have instructed us to perform <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">bhajan<\/em> under the subjugation of R\u00e2dh\u00e2-<em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">sneh\u00e2dhik\u00e2 manjaris<\/em> only. This<em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\"> manjari-bh\u00e2v-s\u00e2dhan\u00e2 <\/em>is the highest spiritual level that a living being can possibly attain by means of his spiritual practice. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: normal; font-family: Verdana;\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: normal; font-family: Verdana;\">Anyway, when the <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">Braja-ramanis<\/em> who were overwhelmed with <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">bh\u00e2v<\/em>, heard the flute-song played by the Sri Krishna, the Supreme Sorcerer, they pretended as if it was not affecting them and started describing the sweetness of the flute to their soul mates. This \u2018I-don\u2019t-care\u2019 attitude is their \u2018<em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">sanch\u00e2ri bh\u00e2v\u2019<\/em> or passing mood. They were trying to show that although the flute is very sweet indeed, it was not having any impact on them. The <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">Brajab\u00e2l\u00e2s<\/em> are full of <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">mah\u00e2bh\u00e2v<\/em>. Their love is like an ocean. In this ocean many <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">bh\u00e2vs <\/em>rise and fall like wavelets. They are \u2013 boredom, sorrow, humility, don\u2019t-care attitude etc. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: normal; font-family: Verdana;\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: normal; font-family: Verdana;\">&#8220;These <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">sanch\u00e2ri bh\u00e2vs<\/em> cause exultation in the ocean like love and then disappear.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: right;\" align=\"right\"><span style=\"font-size: normal; font-family: Verdana;\">\u2013 (Sri Bhakti-Ras\u00e2mrita-Sindhu, 2.4.3)<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: normal; font-family: Verdana;\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: normal;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">In fact, the Braja-beauties are not only extremely loving, but they are also treasure troves of bashfulness, self-control, seriousness and many other excellences. Now they were burning so much that they were near to death. In the beginning they had explained very nicely to their hearts \u2013 &#8220;O innocent heart! Why are you so restless? Control yourself. I am a chaste wife belonging to a decent family. I live in my husband\u2019s home. Someone is playing a flute in some faraway forest, why should you care? Why are you so much agitated to see Him? And suppose you do get to meet Him, then what will you do? You stand to gain nothing. He is a moon in the sky, while you are a dwarf.\u201d But alas! Their hearts understood nothing. Day by day, they became so restless and vociferous that the <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">gopis<\/em> reached a point of no return. Now they simply set themselves afloat in the river of <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">ras.<\/em><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: normal; font-family: Verdana;\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: normal; font-family: Verdana;\">Sri Krishna\u2019s all-mesmerizing flute-song and all-captivating sweet face carrying the flute filled the minds of the <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">Brajadevis <\/em>as they started to describe the <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">venu-m\u00e2dhuri<\/em> to their dear <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">sakhis<\/em>. In addition to this, when She desired to describe the sweet flute-song to Her dear <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">sakhi,<\/em> \u2018<em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">n\u00e2shakan smaravegena vikshiptamanaso nripa<\/em> (Srimad-Bh\u00e2gavatam)\u2019 &#8211; Her heart was completely agitated by the highly excited waves of passion rising in Her ocean-like <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">mah\u00e2bh\u00e2v<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: normal; font-family: Verdana;\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: normal; font-family: Verdana;\">The <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">gopis<\/em> were immersed in fathomless <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">bh\u00e2v<\/em>. Profound ecstasy pervaded their heart and body. Their voices were choked. They were covered with tears and goose bumps. Therefore they were unable to describe Govinda\u2019s all-captivating flute-song. The all-knowing Shukadev Gosw\u00e2mi sat in meditation and saw that sweet Govinda Who revealed Himself in the hearts of the <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">mah\u00e2-bh\u00e2vavati gopis<\/em> and described Him to Mah\u00e2r\u00e2j Parikshit in this verse. Therefore <a href=\"http:\/\/vedabase.net\/k\/krsna\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Krishna<\/span><\/a>&#8216;s body is said to be the ornament of ornaments. Enhancing the wonderful beauty of <a href=\"http:\/\/vedabase.net\/k\/krsna\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Krishna<\/span><\/a> is His three-curved (<em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">tribhanga)<\/em> style of standing. He was afraid that he would be entangled in M\u00e2y\u00e2; therefore he remained in his mother\u2019s womb for twelve years. Then Vy\u00e2sdev prayed to Sri Krishna to give him the blessing that illusion would never grasp him. This assured Shukadev. However as soon as he emerged from his mother\u2019s womb, he deserted his home. When he was wandering naked in the forest, he looked so resplendent that the wood-cutters saw him and mistook him to be a ghost. They approached Vy\u00e2sdev and sought a remedy from him. Vy\u00e2sdev understood that they were referring to his son and concluded that the only way to attract his Impersonalist son was to recite the nectarine Srimad-Bh\u00e2gavatam. He taught the wood-cutters this very <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">shlok<\/em> that was drenched with Sri Krishna\u2019s extraordinary sweetness. When the wood-cutters recited this verse to him, Srila Shukadev Muni ran towards them. The frightened wood-cutters sought refuge with Sri Vy\u00e2sdev. Then Vy\u00e2sdev made Shukadev sit near him and made him study the entire Srimad-Bh\u00e2gavatam. For example, the four child-sages [<a href=\"http:\/\/vedabase.net\/s\/sanaka\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Sanak<\/span><\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/vedabase.net\/s\/sanatana\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">San\u00e2tan<\/span><\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/vedabase.net\/s\/sanandana\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Sanandan<\/span><\/a> and Sanat-kum\u00e2r] were attracted to the lotus feet of <a href=\"http:\/\/vedabase.net\/k\/krsna\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Krishna<\/span><\/a> by the aroma of the Tulsi that had been offered to Him by His devotees.
