All glory to Vrajendranandan Sri Krishna Whose crown is adorned with peacock feathers, where Jayashri R\u00e2dh\u00e2 sports divinely at the tip of His toenail and attains the joy of finding Her life-partner, and Who is my Shiksh\u00e2-Guru! 1.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Srila Krishnad\u00e2s Kavir\u00e2j Gosw\u00e2mip\u00e2d says in his S\u00e2ranga-Rangad\u00e2 purport that, Sri Lil\u00e2shuk was a supreme lover of God and thus all qualified. He had a strong desire to behold Vrind\u00e2van. He was crazy with love <!--more-->and hence started from his home towards Sri Vrind\u00e2van. On the way, he recited a \u2018Mangal\u00e2charan&#8217;<a name=\"_ftnref1\" href=\"#_ftn1\"><sup>1<\/sup><\/a> in which he glorified his Spiritual Master and his Worshipped Deity, Sri Krishna.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Many authors glorify their Sri Gurudev and Ishtadev at the<strong> <\/strong>beginning of their texts. It is a prayer to reach their goal successfully and to get rid of all obstacles along the way.\u00a0 However, Lil\u00e2shuk&#8217;s \u2018Mangal\u00e2charan&#8217; is not like that at all.\u00a0 Unlike other poets, Lil\u00e2shuk has not composed these verses with conscious effort.\u00a0 Filled with ecstatic love, he has uttered these verses involuntarily, and his associates (Vaishnav companions) have penned them down.\u00a0 When one is speaking in a love-crazed state, one cannot possibly make a conscious effort to compose verses. Hence, although the above verse appears to be like a \u2018Mangal\u00e2charan&#8217;, it is definitely not like the Holy Invocations of any other text.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In Lil\u00e2shuk&#8217;s days, the South Indians could speak fluently in Sanskrit.\u00a0 Srip\u00e2d Lil\u00e2shuk, being an excellent poet, has expressed his ecstatic thoughts in the form of very stylish Sanskrit poetry.\u00a0 Now, the question may arise, how is it possible that he glorified his Sri Guru and Ishtadev in the very beginning itself, without being conscious of it? Well, it is natural for a pure devotee to glorify his Sri Guru and Ishtadev every moment of the day, be it while sleeping, eating, and going out or at any other activity.\u00a0 Hence, one need not be surprised that Sri Lil\u00e2shuk said &#8211; &#8220;All glory to my Spiritual Master, Sri Somagiri!\u00a0 He is the embodiment of a touchstone who fulfils all desires.&#8221;\u00a0 A devotee has only one wish &#8211; to get rid of all his <em>anarthas<\/em><a name=\"_ftnref2\" href=\"#_ftn2\"><sup>2<\/sup><\/a> and to obtain <em>Bhagavat-prem<\/em><a name=\"_ftnref3\" href=\"#_ftn3\"><sup>3<\/sup><\/a>.\u00a0 This wish is fulfilled only by the mercy of Sri Gurudev. Srila Narottamd\u00e2s Th\u00e2kur Mah\u00e2shay has sung-<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;May I serve the lotus-feet of my Spiritual Master most carefully, since it is the store-house of <em>bhakti<\/em><a name=\"_ftnref4\" href=\"#_ftn4\"><sup>4<\/sup><\/a>.\u00a0 It is due to his mercy alone that I can manage to cross this material ocean and obtain Sri Krishna.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8211; (Prem-Bhakti-Chandrik\u00e2).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sri Jiva has stated &#8211;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;We cannot get rid of any of our <em>anarthas<\/em>, no matter how much we may try. It is possible to get rid of out <em>anarthas<\/em> and please Sri Hari only by the mercy of Sri Gurudev.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Srila Chaitanya d\u00e2s says &#8211; &#8220;Just as the <em>chint\u00e2mani<a name=\"_ftnref5\" href=\"#_ftn5\"><strong><sup>5<\/sup><\/strong><\/a><\/em> fulfils our wish, all the desires of a <em>s\u00e2dhak<\/em> are fulfilled as soon as he remembers Sri Gurudev&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Sri Lil\u00e2shuk glorifies his Sri Gurudev<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"> <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In \u2018K\u00e2vyaprakash<a name=\"_ftnref6\" href=\"#_ftn6\"><sup>6<\/sup><\/a>&#8216;, the word <em>\u2018jay&#8217;<\/em> also means \u2018obeisance&#8217;.
