The resonance of the flute is not a part of any divine form other than of Vrajendra-Nandan.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\"> <!--more--> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoBodyText2\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoBodyText\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><span style=\"font-size: small; font-family: Verdana;\"> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoBodyText\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">The Mah\u00e2jan has sung \u2013<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoBodyText\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">&#8220;<em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">madhur madhur bamshi baje ei to brind\u00e2ban.\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoBodyText\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><span style=\"font-size: small; font-family: Verdana;\"> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoBodyText\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">Meaning \u2013 &#8220;It is in Vrind\u00e2van alone where the sweet, sweet sound of the flute is heard.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoBodyText\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><span style=\"font-size: small; font-family: Verdana;\"> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoBodyText\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">It means that Sri Krishna does not play the flute anywhere else other than in Vrind\u00e2van. Hence, Vrajendra-Nandan Sri Krishna is that \u2018Vastu\u2019 Who plays the flute in the <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">R\u00e2s<\/em>-dance in order to attract the Vraja-beauties. He Himself is immersed in the supreme bliss of that enchanting sound vibration. The flute emanates 21 types of sound waves that give rise to supreme bliss. This stupefies the mind and senses of Sri Krishna, the flute-player Himself !! <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoBodyText2\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><span style=\"text-decoration: none;\"><span style=\"font-size: small; font-family: Comic Sans MS;\"><strong><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoBodyText2\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"font-family: Comic Sans MS;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Explanation of the word \u2018<em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">prastuta<\/em>\u2019<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoBodyText2\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><strong><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoBodyText\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">Srila Bhatta Gosw\u00e2mi says the word \u2018<strong style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;\"><em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">prastuta\u2019<\/em><\/strong> in the verse means that the sound waves emanating from the flute visibly agitate and hypnotise the audience.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\"> <\/span>He says that, \u2018<em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">prastuta\u2019 <\/em>may also mean \u2018<em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">prakrishta-rupe stuta\u2019<\/em>, that is, \u2018<strong style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;\">a sound that the <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">Gopis<\/em> glorify loudly<\/strong>\u2019. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoBodyText\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><span style=\"font-size: small; font-family: Verdana;\"> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoBodyText\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">The <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">Gopis<\/em> say \u2013 &#8220;Glory be the flute that freely partakes of the nectar of Govinda\u2019s lips! Hence it has gone divinely crazy and is constantly calling out sweetly.\u201d<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\"> <\/span>The <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">Gopis <\/em>are glorifying the flute in the following manner \u2013 <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoBodyText\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><span style=\"font-size: small; font-family: Verdana;\"> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoBodyText\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">&#8220;<em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">gopah kim \u2013 \u00e2charadayam\u00e2 kushalam sma venur \u2013 d\u00e2modar \u2013 \u00e2dhara \u2013 sudh\u00e2mapi gopik\u00e2n\u00e2m\u00e2,<\/em><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoBodyText\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\"><em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">bhunkte swayam yad \u2013 avashishtarasam hridinyo \u2013 hrishyatva \u2013 cho\u2019 shru mumuchusta \u2013 ravo yatharyah\u00e2<\/span><\/em><span lang=\"EN-GB\">.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoBodyText\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"mso-fareast-font-family: Verdana; mso-bidi-font-family: Verdana;\" lang=\"EN-GB\"><span style=\"mso-list: Ignore;\"><span style=\"font-size: small; font-family: Verdana;\">&#8211;<\/span><span style=\"font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;;\"> <\/span><\/span><\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">(S.B. 10.21.9)<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoBodyText\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><span style=\"font-size: small; font-family: Verdana;\"> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoBodyText\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">Sri Chaitanya-Charit\u00e2mrita has aptly explained this verse as \u2013 <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoBodyText\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><span style=\"font-size: small; font-family: Verdana;\"> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoBodyText\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">&#8220;O <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">Gopis!<\/em> Just ponder and tell me, what austerities has this flute performed and in which holy place? What supernatural <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">mantra <\/em>has it chanted in its previous births?<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\"> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoBodyText\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><span style=\"font-size: small; font-family: Verdana;\"> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoBodyText\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">The <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">Gopis<\/em> cling to their lives in the hope that they will get to taste the nectar of Krishna\u2019s lips, that put even \u2018<em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">Amritam<\/em><\/span><\/span><a style=\"mso-footnote-id: ftn1;\" name=\"_ftnref1\" href=\"#_ftn1\"><span class=\"MsoFootnoteReference\"><span style=\"mso-special-character: footnote;\"><span class=\"MsoFootnoteReference\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><sup>1<\/sup><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">\u2019 to shame, while this flute gets to drink that nectar to its heart\u2019s content although it is most unworthy! Besides, it belongs to the non-moving community and its gender is masculine. Yet it always drinks that nectar.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoBodyText\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">The flute drinks the nectar forcibly, without bothering to take any permission (from us, since the nectar rightfully belongs to us).<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\"> <\/span>After drinking, it gives a loud call and tells us what it has done.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\"> <\/span>(It is so audacious!)<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoBodyText\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><span style=\"font-size: small; font-family: Verdana;\"> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoBodyText\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">It has practised many austerities, as a result of which it has gained such fortune that even saints partake of its <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">ucchishta<\/em><\/span><\/span><a style=\"mso-footnote-id: ftn2;\" name=\"_ftnref2\" href=\"#_ftn2\"><span class=\"MsoFootnoteReference\"><span style=\"mso-special-character: footnote;\"><span class=\"MsoFootnoteReference\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><sup>2<\/sup><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoBodyText\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><span style=\"font-size: small; font-family: Verdana;\"> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoBodyText\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">The rivers such as M\u00e2nas-Gang\u00e2 and K\u00e2lindi can purify the whole world. Even they drink the nectar of Krishna\u2019s lips that the flute has contaminated, when He bathes therein.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoBodyText\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><span style=\"font-size: small; font-family: Verdana;\"> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoBodyText\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">Leave aside the women; let us talk about the trees on the banks of these rivers. The trees are so exalted! They are so helpful to others. Even they drink the (contaminated) water of these rivers through their roots! (How can they bear to do this?) We do not know why they behave so strangely.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\"> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoBodyText\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><span style=\"font-size: small; font-family: Verdana;\"> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoBodyText\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">After drinking this water, the trees express goose flesh in the form of buds, laugh in the form of bloomed flowers and shed tears in the form of honey. Actually, they consider the flute to be a member of their own community and some sort of a relative \u2013 like a dear son or grandchild. Therefore, all the trees behave like Vaishnavs in ecstasy.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\"> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoBodyText\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><span style=\"font-size: small; font-family: Verdana;\"> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoBodyText\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">When we find out what <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">tapasy\u00e2<\/em> the flute has performed, we too shall perform the same. If the flute, in spite of being so unqualified, has gained such a high status, we shall surely succeed, for are we not thoroughly qualified? Meanwhile, we are dying of sorrow, since we cannot bear the fact that the unworthy flute is drinking the nectar of Krishna\u2019s lips. Hence we are determined to perform penance.\u201d \u2013 [C.C.
