Which sadhana arouses ras?<\/span><\/h2>\n

Srila Rupa Gosw\u00e2mip\u00e2d has written – “Ras<\/em> arises when \u2013<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

1. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Bhakti <\/em>has uprooted all our faults and at last <\/span>we are happy. And so we are ready to receive pure goodness. Our heart is sparkling with the knowledge required to receive pure goodness,<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

2. <\/span><\/span><\/span>We are deeply attached to Srimad-Bh\u00e2gavatam,<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

3. <\/span><\/span><\/span>The only pleasure in our life is \u2013 the constant company of rasik<\/em> devotees,<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

4. <\/span><\/span><\/span>We consider the joy arising out of serving the lotus feet of Lord Govinda as the sole purpose of living,<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

5. <\/span><\/span><\/span>We are incessantly engaged in hearing about the confidential pastimes, glorifying them and meditating on them since these are the very necessity to gain prem<\/em>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

What causes ras<\/span><\/em><\/span> to arise?<\/span><\/span><\/h1>\n<\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

When the heart is radiant with the ras<\/em>-desire gained in the past life and in the present life, ras arises in it.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

What is the way through which ras<\/em> arises?<\/span><\/span><\/h1>\n<\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Worldly people relish material ras<\/em> when a good author composes an interesting piece of literature. Transcendental ras <\/em>is not like that. It does not depend on the merits of the author or the composition. The passion in a devotee\u2019s heart takes the form of joy and he realizes ras<\/em>. The passion in the devotee\u2019s heart makes Sri Krishna extremely relishing to him and he attains dizzy heights of tremendous bliss!\u201d \u2013 (B.R.S. 2.1.7-10)<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

These statements prove that ras is like Brahman \u2013 gross, subtle, beyond all reasoning and something unearthly. We can only realize ras;<\/em> we cannot ascertain it by using logic; we cannot debate on it. If we do not have a sansk\u00e2r<\/em> for ras,<\/em> or a \u2018ras<\/em>-desire\u2019, we can never ever digest ras<\/em>. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
