Even the argumentative men stand a chance. Out of curiosity they may study rhetoric, enter the path of <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">bhakti<\/em> and may relish <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">bhakti ras <\/em>to a slight extent; but the <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">mim\u00e2nsaks<\/em> are never qualified to enter the temple of<em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\"> bhakti.<\/em> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 12pt 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: book antiqua,palatino;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">The ones practicing dry renunciation are uncouth and the remaining are plain ignorant. You know how a householder hides his most valuable items out of fear that the thieves may steal them? Similarly, Sri Krishna- <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">bhakti-ras <\/em>is a precious treasure. The devotee rasik should too hide this gem from the uncouth and ignorant. We should not discuss <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">bhakti-ras <\/em>with the above-mentioned people. Be especially careful of those dry <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">mim\u00e2nsaks<\/em> (logicians and analysts), since they harbor a distaste for <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">bhakti<\/em>&#8211;<em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">ras <\/em>and are ever-ready to jump on <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">bhakti-ras<\/em> to annihilate it with worldly arguments. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 12pt 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: book antiqua,palatino;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Srimat Jiva Gosw\u00e2mip\u00e2d has said \u2013 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 12pt 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: book antiqua,palatino;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">&#8220;We see five types of people in this world \u2013<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 12pt 0cm 0pt 39.75pt; text-indent: -18pt; text-align: justify; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo3; tab-stops: list 39.75pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: book antiqua,palatino;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"mso-fareast-font-family: Verdana; mso-bidi-font-family: Verdana;\"><span style=\"mso-list: Ignore;\">a)<span style=\"font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal; font-size-adjust: none; font-stretch: normal; font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;;\"> <\/span><\/span><\/span>Ignorant (<em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">agya<\/em>)\u2013 They may be learned in the other scriptures, but have no experience of <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">ras<\/em>-literature (transcendental <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">ras,<\/em> naturally). We still call them \u2018ignorant\u2019.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 12pt 0cm 0pt 39.75pt; text-indent: -18pt; text-align: justify; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo3; tab-stops: list 39.75pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: book antiqua,palatino;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"mso-fareast-font-family: Verdana; mso-bidi-font-family: Verdana;\"><span style=\"mso-list: Ignore;\">b)<span style=\"font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal; font-size-adjust: none; font-stretch: normal; font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;;\"> <\/span><\/span><\/span>Uncouth (<em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">gr\u00e2mya<\/em>) \u2013 They are addicted to material enjoyment. They are like animals indulging in the pleasure of the flesh.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 12pt 0cm 0pt 39.75pt; text-indent: -18pt; text-align: justify; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo3; tab-stops: list 39.75pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: book antiqua,palatino;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"mso-fareast-font-family: Verdana; mso-bidi-font-family: Verdana;\"><span style=\"mso-list: Ignore;\">c)<span style=\"font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal; font-size-adjust: none; font-stretch: normal; font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;;\"> <\/span><\/span><\/span>Wise (<em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">pr\u00e2gya<\/em>) \u2013 They are learned in <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">ras<\/em>-literature; they even accept that <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">ras<\/em> is the topmost, yet they are so unfortunate that they are not capable of relishing <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">ras<\/em>. All three (ignorant, uncouth and wise) are unworthy of <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">ras<\/em>-realization.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 12pt 0cm 0pt 39.75pt; text-indent: -18pt; text-align: justify; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo3; tab-stops: list 39.75pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: book antiqua,palatino;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"mso-fareast-font-family: Verdana; mso-bidi-font-family: Verdana;\"><span style=\"mso-list: Ignore;\">d)<span style=\"font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal; font-size-adjust: none; font-stretch: normal; font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;;\"> <\/span><\/span><\/span><em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">Bh\u00e2vak<\/em> &#8211; They are devotees who are learned in <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">ras<\/em>-literature and are able to relish <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">ras<\/em>. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 12pt 0cm 0pt 39.75pt; text-indent: -18pt; text-align: justify; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo3; tab-stops: list 39.75pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: book antiqua,palatino;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"mso-fareast-font-family: Verdana; mso-bidi-font-family: Verdana;\"><span style=\"mso-list: Ignore;\">e)<span style=\"font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal; font-size-adjust: none; font-stretch: normal; font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;;\"> <\/span><\/span><\/span><em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">Bh\u00e2vya<\/em> \u2013 They are also devotees. They have attained success (<em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">siddhi)<\/em> in <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">ras-s\u00e2dhan\u00e2<\/em>. They are accomplished relishers of <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">ras<\/em>. The <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">mim\u00e2nsak<\/em> are divided into two groups \u2013 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoFootnoteText\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt 36pt; text-indent: -18pt; text-align: justify; mso-list: l2 level1 lfo2; tab-stops: list 36.0pt; mso-element: footnote;\"><span style=\"font-family: book antiqua,palatino;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"mso-fareast-font-family: Verdana; mso-bidi-font-family: Verdana;\"><span style=\"mso-list: Ignore;\">a)<span style=\"font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal; font-size-adjust: none; font-stretch: normal; font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;;\"> <\/span><\/span><\/span>Purva-mim\u00e2nsak \u2013 They are the followers of Rishi Jaimini. He is attributed with <span style=\"mso-ansi-language: EN;\" lang=\"EN\">Karma-mim\u00e2ms\u00e2 (&#8220;Study of [Ritual] Action\u201d). His followers dapple with mainly with <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">karma<\/em>&#8211;<em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">k\u00e2nda.<\/em><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoFootnoteText\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt 36pt; text-indent: -18pt; text-align: justify; mso-list: l2 level1 lfo2; tab-stops: list 36.0pt; mso-element: footnote;\"><span style=\"font-family: book antiqua,palatino;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"mso-fareast-font-family: Verdana; mso-bidi-font-family: Verdana;\"><span style=\"mso-list: Ignore;\">b)<span style=\"font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal; font-size-adjust: none; font-stretch: normal; font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;;\"> <\/span><\/span><\/span>Uttar-mim\u00e2nsak \u2013 The followers of this doctrine hold that <span style=\"mso-bidi-font-family: Arial; mso-ansi-language: EN-GB;\" lang=\"EN-GB\">God is the omniscient and omnipotent cause of the existence, continuance, and dissolution of the universe. Creation is an act of his will; he is both the efficient and the material cause of the world. At the consummation of all things all are resolved into him.
