Whose thick, smooth and silky hair is fashioned into an alluring \u2018chud\u00e2<\/em>\u2019\u2019 <\/span>(see Sri Krishna\u2019s hair style in the picture), <\/span>that is crowned with colourful peacock feathers, Whose face is immersed in the flow of sweet ras<\/em>, Who is resplendent with the l\u00e2vanya<\/em> of budding youth,\"\"<\/a> Who is spreading the mellifluous notes of the flute like a nectarine river, Who is served by the lotus-bud-like breasts of the surrounding Gopis, may Such a supremely pleasing splendid brilliance pervade my heart! .4.<\/span><\/p>\n

A<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n

s a s\u00e2dhak<\/em> Sri Lil\u00e2shuk has three types of experiences \u2013 <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

First, he is aware of Sri Krishna\u2019s sphurti<\/em>, second \u2013 an <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span>intermediary stage between sphurti<\/em> and actual <\/span>meeting, that is, he is considering <\/span>sphurti<\/em> to be actual meeting (this stage is called visphurti)<\/em> <\/span>and third \u2013 actual meeting (also called s\u00e2ksh\u00e2tk\u00e2r)<\/em>. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Sri Lil\u00e2shuk is a s\u00e2dhak <\/em>in the mood of sweetness. This mood is arousing purva\u2013r\u00e2g<\/em><\/span><\/span>1<\/sup><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a> and vipralambha<\/em><\/span><\/span>2<\/sup><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a> in him. From purva\u2013r\u00e2g <\/em>and vipralambha<\/em> arises <\/span>l\u00e2las\u00e2<\/span>3<\/sup><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><\/em> for Sri Krishna. Although, due to l\u00e2las\u00e2<\/em>, he is feeling the sphurti<\/em> of Sri Krishna in his heart (which shows his heart is united with Shy\u00e2msundar), he wishes to meet Sri Krishna, the hero of the R\u00e2s\u2013<\/em>dance, face to face. Hence, in his s\u00e2dhak<\/em> body he is showing the signs of humility and anxiety. He is crying out for this meting! Therefore, the next eighteen verses are l\u00e2las\u00e2<\/em>\u2013filled prayers. It is possible to feel burning separation externally in spite of feeling the bliss of unification internally.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

To describe this, Srila Kavir\u00e2j Gosw\u00e2mip\u00e2d has quoted a verse from Sri Geet\u2013Govindam \u2013 <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

“Sri Krishna is forever meditating deeply on Sri R\u00e2dh\u00e2. He is experiencing Her touch on His body, His eyes are conjuring Her serene form, and His nostrils are filled with the aroma of Her lotus\u2013face. He is hearing Her voice \u2013 it sounds so sweet that it puts nectar to utter shame, and His tongue is sensing the sweetness of Her rosy lips. Nevertheless, alas! Why is the pang of separation increasing in His heart?\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

In the same manner, Sri Lil\u00e2shuk too is sensing the sphurti<\/em> of Sri Krishna, yet, he is anxious to make his mind and other senses absorb more and more in his lovely Govinda. Therefore, he is praying with l\u00e2las\u00e2 <\/em>to obtain divine sev\u00e2<\/em>. We can classify his verses in the following manner \u2013 <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

1st<\/sup> <\/span>Mangal\u00e2charan<\/em><\/span> (Prayer of invocation) <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

2nd<\/sup> <\/span>Vastu\u2013nirdesh<\/em><\/span> (what is the subject matter) <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

3rd<\/sup> <\/span><\/span>Entry into the divine pastime. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

4th<\/sup> \u2013 21st<\/sup> <\/span>Prayer to obtain Sri Krishna\u2019s darshan<\/em><\/span>. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

22nd<\/sup> <\/span><\/span>He states his decision.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

23rd<\/sup> <\/span>\u2013 55th<\/sup> These 33 verses contain the lamentation of Gopis <\/em><\/span>when Sri<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span> <\/span>Krishna disappeared from R\u00e2s<\/em>\u2013floor and they prayed to<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span> <\/span> <\/span> <\/span>obtain His darshan<\/em><\/span><\/span>4<\/sup><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a>. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

56th<\/span><\/sup> <\/span>\u2013 60th<\/span><\/sup> <\/span>These 5 verses contain visphurti <\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

61st<\/span><\/sup> <\/span>\u2013 67th<\/span><\/sup> Once again he expresses his anxiousness for darshan<\/em>. <\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

68th<\/span><\/sup> <\/span>\u2013 95th<\/span><\/sup> <\/span>These 28 verses are about the beauty of the Divine form of Sri<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span> <\/span>Krishna and how He is beyond ordinary senses. The poet has<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span> <\/span>composed these verses after actual darshan<\/em>. <\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

96th<\/span><\/sup> <\/span>\u2013 112th<\/span><\/sup> These seventeen verses contain conversations with Sri Krishna. <\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Thus, there are 112 verses in total. <\/a><\/span><\/p>\n
