In the age of Mah\u00e2prabhu, the devotees are in Manjari-bh\u00e2v. The manjaris<\/em> have a special role to play during the R\u00e2s<\/em>–leel\u00e2<\/em> and in the confidential pastimes of Sri Sri R\u00e2dh\u00e2-Krishna!<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

Srimad Rupa Gosw\u00e2mi has prayed-<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

“O Srimati R\u00e2dhike! When the R\u00e2s<\/em>-sport starts, Sri Krishna will desert all the other Vraja-beauties and take You to a secluded spot! There Sri Hari will obey Your command and decorate You with a variety of flowers. When will my heart swell with pride upon beholding this scene?\u201d – (Utkalika\u2013Vallari 42)<\/span><\/p>\n

The high position of Sri R\u00e2dh\u00e2r\u00e2ni is a matter of pride for the sakhi-manjaris<\/em>.<\/span><\/span><\/strong> <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Sri Krishna looks exceptionally dazzling when He is eager to perform confidential pastimes with Sri R\u00e2dh\u00e2r\u00e2ni. Since Lil\u00e2shuk is in the mood of a sakhi, he wants to describe this beauty. <\/span>And how is His beauty? He is full of exuberant youth, that is, He is \u2018Nava-kishor\u2019<\/strong>. <\/span><\/p>\n

Explanation of \u2018Vraja-b\u00e2la-sundarin\u00e2n hridayam\u2019<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

Srip\u00e2d Kavir\u00e2j Gosw\u00e2mi has explained \u2018Vraja-b\u00e2la-sundarinaan hridayam\u2019<\/strong> very wonderfully. He has said Sri Krishna is the One Who understands the heart of Vraja-beauties! He performs pastimes according to their hearts\u2019 desires and He knows all the secrets of their hearts.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2018Hridya-vibhrama\u2019<\/strong> means<\/span>, <\/span><\/span>the Vraja-beauties are extremely bewildered. Ras<\/em>-science has defined \u2018bewilderment\u2019 as \u2013<\/span><\/p>\n

“When erotic ras<\/em> overwhelms the mind and agitates it, we call this state as \u2018bewilderment\u2019\u201d. \u2018Hridya-vibhrama\u2019 or extreme bewilderment is not present in anyone else other than the maidens of Vraja<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

The poet describes Sri Krishna as ‘taralam<\/strong>1<\/sup><\/sup><\/strong><\/a>‘<\/span><\/a>. Kavir\u00e2j Gosw\u00e2mip\u00e2d has explained this word as \u2018nritya-gatya sarva-sam\u00e2dh\u00e2n\u00e2rthan chanchalam\u2019<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

Meaning: – “One Who satisfies everybody by swift dancing movements.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

Its inner meaning is \u2013 since Sri Krishna is about to relish the ras<\/em> of confidential pastimes with Srimati, He is approaching every other Gopi with swift dancing steps to embrace and kiss her. In this way, He wants to appease every Gopi. To an outside onlooker the R\u00e2s<\/em>-dance would look like a whirlpool. He is also called \u2018taral<\/strong>\u2019 (sparkling) because He is very close to their heart like a precious sapphire. Sri Krishna is full of infinite ras<\/em> and unlimited sweetness \u2013 now He is surrounded by the Vraja-Gopis who are absorbed in inexpressible sweetness of the R\u00e2s<\/em>-dance-floor \u2013 hence He is the central character of this vortex.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

Srila Chaitanyad\u00e2s Gosw\u00e2mi has written that, in this verse, Sri Lil\u00e2shuk has prayed with great humility for a \u2018sphurti\u2019 of Sri Krishna in his heart.<\/span><\/p>\n
