So, in this verse he is praying for a \u2018<em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">sphurti<\/em>\u2019 of Sri Krishna\u2019s <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">leel\u00e2<\/em>. Sri Krishna\u2019s form is made of intense <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">ras<\/em>. The Upanishads have described this form as \u2018extremely mysterious\u2019 or top secret, <!--more-->so the poet does not mention Sri Krishna\u2019s name and instead prays for a \u2018<em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">sphurti<\/em>\u2019 of \u2018dense brilliance\u2019. Factually, this brilliance is none other than the <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">leel\u00e2-par\u00e2yan<a style=\"mso-footnote-id: ftn1;\" name=\"_ftnref1\" href=\"#_ftn1\"><span class=\"MsoFootnoteReference\"><span style=\"mso-special-character: footnote;\"><span class=\"MsoFootnoteReference\"><strong style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><sup>1<\/sup><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><\/em> Sri Krishna surrounded by the Vraja-b\u00e2l\u00e2s. Therefore in this verse he is describing That <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">leel\u00e2<\/em>&#8211;<em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">par\u00e2yan<\/em> Sri Krishna.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\">These <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">ras<\/em>-filled dalliances are the favourite pastimes of the Vrajadevis. Sri Krishna is the source of these dalliances. He is their life and soul. They live only because they have obtained Shy\u00e2msundar, the One Who is the supremely intense blissful <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">ras <\/em>personified. They express the most attractive symptoms of bewilderment. Therefore, they are also called \u2018<em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">hridaya-vibhrama\u2019<\/em>. He is the beloved of Vraja-sundaris. He is everything to them and He enters their hearts. In his purport, Srip\u00e2d has quoted twenty-two expressions of the Vrajadevis as mentioned in Sri Ujjwal\u2013Neelmani. We are mentioning only a few of them for the pleasure of the readers. They are given in Sri Chaitanya-Charit\u00e2mrita:<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/kunjeshwari.com\/sweetblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/09\/radha_and_parrot.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-631\" title=\"radha_and_parrot\" src=\"http:\/\/kunjeshwari.com\/sweetblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/09\/radha_and_parrot.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"180\" height=\"278\" \/><\/a>&#8220;R\u00e2dh\u00e2r\u00e2ni is all\u00a0the more beautiful because She is adorned with the jewellery of bh\u00e2vas such as <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">kila-kinchit, kuttumita, vilola, lalita, bibboka, mott\u00e2yita, mougdha<\/em> and <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">chakita<\/em>. When Krishna beholds these expressions of bh\u00e2v, His ocean-like joy manifests tumultuous waves.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\">(Devotees!) Hear the description of <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">\u2018kila-kinchit<\/em>\u2019 <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">bh\u00e2v<\/em>. R\u00e2dh\u00e2 steals the heart of Krishna when She is adorned with this <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">bh\u00e2v<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\">If upon beholding R\u00e2dh\u00e2, Krishna wants to touch Her, or when He obstructs Her path in D\u00e2ngh\u00e2ti, Sri R\u00e2dh\u00e2 expresses this <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">bh\u00e2v<\/em>. Sometimes Krishna stops Her from plucking flowers and sometimes He tries to touch Her in front of Her friends. In all these cases, she expresses \u2018<em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">kila-kinchit<\/em>\u2019. This <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">bh\u00e2v <\/em>arises from joy. (R\u00e2dh\u00e2r\u00e2ni actually feels happy in these cases).<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\">Seven more expressions are added to the first one (joy) and when all the eight are combined, it gives rise to Mah\u00e2bh\u00e2v. These seven expressions are \u2013 pride, desire, fear, tear-less crying, anger, indignation and a faint smile.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\">When these eight different expressions, each with their own different flavour, come together, they give rise to a unique taste that gives great pleasure to Krishna.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\">This is just like preparing the wonderful dish called \u2018Ras\u00e2l\u00e2\u2019 that is made by adding dashes of sugar, ghee, honey, pepper, camphor and nutmeg to yoghurt. When Krishna beholds R\u00e2dh\u00e2\u2019s eyes expressing this <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">bh\u00e2v<\/em> (<em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">kila-kinchit<\/em>), He is filled with a pleasure that is ten million times greater than the joy of love-making.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\">Suppose R\u00e2dh\u00e2 is sitting down or She is going to Vrind\u00e2van, and suddenly She sees Krishna, immediately She manifests various expressions such as shyness, joy, desire, modesty, unfavourable disposition and fear. All these expressions together make R\u00e2dh\u00e2 agitated and this gem of a <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">bh\u00e2v<\/em> is called \u2018vil\u00e2s\u2019. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\">If R\u00e2dh\u00e2 stands in a \u2018<em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">tribhanga<\/em>\u2019 pose in front of Krishna with Her eyebrows dancing and sends many signals through Her eyes and face, then this jewel of a <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">bh\u00e2v<\/em> is called \u2018<em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">lalita<\/em>\u2019. When Krishna sees R\u00e2dh\u00e2 adorned with this jewellery (<em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">bh\u00e2v<\/em>), both become very much eager to meet.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\">Krishna is thus tempted and tugs at R\u00e2dh\u00e2\u2019s bodice. She is joyous at heart, but externally, She stops Him. Outwardly, She manifests adversity and anger while inside She rejoices. Krishna\u2019s desire is fulfilled as She covers Herself with Her palms. She utters a tear-less cry as if in agony, then chastises Krishna with a faint smile. This ornament-like <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">bhaav<\/em> is called \u2018<em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">kuttumita<\/em>\u2019.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\">In this manner, R\u00e2dh\u00e2 is adorned with so many different <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">bh\u00e2vas<\/em> due to which She manages to steal Krishna\u2019s heart\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\">-(C.C. \u2013 Madhya.18.178-188)<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;\">Sri R\u00e2dh\u00e2r\u00e2ni is the only one who can manifest all of these jewel-like <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">bh\u00e2vas<\/em> to their complete extent.
