Srila Kavir\u00e2j Gosw\u00e2mip\u00e2d has said when Sri Lil\u00e2shuk beheld some Gopi placing Sri Krishna\u2019s lotus-feet on her breasts, he prayed joyfully and covetously \u2013 “May the touch of Sri Krishna\u2019s lotus-feet be a source of inexpressible happiness to me\u201d. He would like Sri R\u00e2dh\u00e2\u2019s bosom to hold Sri Krishna\u2019s lotus feet so that Her heart may overflow with inexpressible happiness. The sakhis<\/em> are most happy when Sri R\u00e2dh\u00e2r\u00e2ni holds Her Beloved\u2019s lotus-feet close to Her heart. Later on, in the 15th<\/span><\/sup> verse, the poet says “madiya-hridaye aruna pada\u2013saroruhabhy\u00e2m\u2013akridatam<\/em>\u201d etc. which means \u2018May Sri Krishna place His rosy lotus-feet on the bosom of Sri R\u00e2dh\u00e2, Who is our (the sakhis<\/em>\u2019) life and soul, and thus perform all pastimes\u2019. This is the mood of the sakhis<\/em> \u2013 to give pleasure to their leader, Sri R\u00e2dh\u00e2r\u00e2ni.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The glory of the sakhis<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n

“How does one describe the character of a sakhi? It is indeed glorious! She never desires any pastime with Krishna. She only wants to bring about the union of R\u00e2dh\u00e2-Krishna. This service gives Her ten million times more pleasure than having Krishna all to Herself. R\u00e2dh\u00e2r\u00e2ni is the embodiment of the wish-fulfilling creeper called Krishna-prem. The sakhis<\/em> are its leaves and blossoms. If they water the roots of this creeper with the nectarine pastimes of Krishna then the leaves and blossoms feel ten million times more pleasure than if they were watered themselves.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n

“The sakhis<\/em> never ever desire conjugal union with Krishna. Even then, on R\u00e2dh\u00e2r\u00e2ni\u2019s wish and through Her attempts, sometimes they have milan<\/em>1<\/sup><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a> with Krishna. R\u00e2dh\u00e2r\u00e2ni creates various circumstances so that Her sakhi is united with Krishna. By doing so, She gets ten million times more pleasure than Her own union with Him. In this manner, they all nourish ras<\/em> of love by displaying pure prem<\/em>. This pure love gives immense pleasure to Krishna\u201d.<\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
