Madhya.19.157-159)<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: right;\" align=\"right\"><span style=\"font-size: small; font-family: Verdana;\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">There are some more <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">ras<\/em> other than these five<em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\"> ras.<\/em> They are <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">h\u00e2sya<\/em> &#8211; laughter (humor), <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">adbhut<\/em> &#8211; extraordinary, <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">veer <\/em>\u2013 velour, <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">karun<\/em> \u2013 sad, <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">roudra<\/em> \u2013 anger, <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">vibhatsa<\/em> \u2013 horror, <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">bhaya<\/em> \u2013 terror. These seven <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">ras <\/em>are secondary .The devotee can be situated in any of the five primary<em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\"> ras<\/em> \u2013 that is \u2013 he may be in the mood of a servant, parent etc. Then, due to some reason, these seven <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">ras<\/em> may enter his heart like a guest and when the cause is removed, these <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">ras<\/em> too take their leave. <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">Sh\u00e2nta<\/em> etc. are permanent <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">ras.<\/em> They remain always in the particular devotee\u2019s heart. For example, there is a sad situation. Then a devotee feels <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">karun ras<\/em>. When the sorrowful situation disappears, the <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">karun ras <\/em>too vanishes. Same is the case with <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">h\u00e2sya ras<\/em> (laughter) etc. We should remember that the five principal <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">ras n <\/em>ever leave a devotee situated in that <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">ras.<\/em><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: small; font-family: Verdana;\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">&#8220;The five primary <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">ras<\/em> are permanent in a devotee. The seven other <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">ras <\/em>are secondary. They come and go like strangers.\u201d \u2013 (C.C.Madhya.19.161)<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: small; font-family: Verdana;\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">The seven secondary <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">ras <\/em>appear and disappear in the dear associates of Sri <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">Bhagav\u00e2n.<\/em> They are the \u2018<em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">sanch\u00e2ri\u2019<\/em> or passing moods. Hence we shall not discuss them here.
