Srila Narottam das Thakur Mahashay has declared raag-bhajan as 'lok-ved-saar' - that is - the essence of all Vedic processes. He has said -
"raager bhajan path, kohi ebe abhimot,
lok-bed-saar ei baani.
sakhir anuga hoiya, broje siddha deho paiya,
shei bhabe jurabe porani."
meaning - "i tell you definitely that the path of raag-bhajan is the essence of all Vedic paths. We should be subservient to the sakhis and practice bhajan. Then we shall get siddha-deha in Braj-dham and gain utmost peace."
To perform Raganuga bhajan we need to immerse ourselves in the bhaav of Braj-dham. Aarti-kirtans, ashtakams, and various kirtans by the Goudiya Vaishnavs are indispensable in this endeavor. As a result, since quite some time, the serious Vaishnavs have been requesting us to publish the daily kirtans sung by the Raganuga devotees of Nabadweep and Braj. We decided to gain their kripa by obeying their command. Although the singers are far from perfection, they have tried their best. And we must remember that they have no professional training nor have they done any rehearsal.
We can guarantee you one thing though - each devotee involved in the kirtans is Vaishnav-initiated and follows all the rules of shuddha-aahar and sadachar. The following kirtans are meant only to assist us in learning the essential daily Raganuga kirtans, and nothing more:
