FORGIVING PEOPLE
Where do i get the idea that if ‘I‘ don’t forgive people, THEY suffer?
It’s nuts!
Let’s say:
a) i am your boss and i give you the sack, or
b) i am your guru and i have an illicit relation, or worse –
c) i am your guru and i give up Krishna !!!!!
So you say, “I’ll NEVER forgive you!”
Who suffers?
NOT I !
You get the knot in your stomach.
You lose the sleep.
i am probably out partying!
If i were in your place i would resent the wrong-doer.
While I resent the wrong-doer, I SUFFER!
Meanwhile I tell myself, “I’m right!”
But being “RIGHT” doesn’t guarantee happiness.
Naturally, since Lord Gourahari doesn’t like it.
Here’s the point …
To forgive someone, i don’t have to AGREE with what they did.
i just have to want my life to work and bhajan to continue.
i don’t forgive people for THEIR benefit.
i do it for MY benefit.
So this is my mission for the next 24 hours:
Let me think of someone that has hurt me.
Just today, i shall practise letting go of all resentment toward them.
Gather all my ANGRY thoughts –
those “I am right and they are wrong” thoughts,
and let them go.
i shall use my creative imagination …
.. put all that resentment into an imaginary balloon,
and let it float away.
Throughout the day, repeat the process.
i will feel better.
Forgiving people may be tough, but is possible.
i forgive people for MY benefit.
It makes ME happier.
Love, Best wishes, and warm regards
RADHE RADHE.
