All Gour-bhaktas are well-aware that Sri Sri Krishna-Chaitanya Mahāprabhu had revealed his six-handed form to Srila Vāsudev Sārvabhouma Bhattāchārya in Sri Purushottam Kshetra. Sri Chaitanya-Bhāgabat says –
“apurba shadabhujmurti koti surjyamoy, Dekhi murchhā gelo sārbabhouma mahāshay.”
Meaning – “The Lord revealed his six-handed form that was brilliant like ten million suns. When Sārvabhouma Mahāshay saw this form, he fell unconscious.”

Sri Chaitanya-Charitāmrita says –
“dekhi sārbabhouma dandabat kori, punah uthi stab kore dui kor juri.
Prabhur kripāy tānr sfurilo sob tattvas, nām Prem dān ādi borner mahatta.
Shata shlok koilo ek danda nā jāite, brihaspati toichhe shlok nā pare barnite.”

Meaning – “When Sārvabhouma saw the immensely effulgent form of the Lord, he paid obeisance. Then he got up, and joining his palms, he glorified the Lord. By the mercy of the Lord, all Tattva, such as the Holy Name and Divine Love became instantly clear to him. In a trice he composed one hundred verses. They were so beautiful that even Brihaspati cannot compose anything equal to them.”

This Gourānga-stotra that contains one hundred verses is called “Sārvabhouma Shatakam”. This name was given by Sri Gourānga Mahāprabhu himself. We find this in Sri Chaitanya Bhāgabat – the Lord said with his holy lips – to Sārvabhouma Bhattāchārya –
“shata shlok kori tumi je koile staban, je jon koribe ihā shraban pathan,
Āmāte tāhār Bhakti hoibe nishchoy, Sārbabhouma-Shatak je heno kirti roy.”

Meaning – “Whosoever hears or reads these hundred verses composed by you will definitely obtain my Bhakti ! May Sārvabhouma-shatak remain forever glorious !”

Now this stotra has become famous by the name ‘sri Chaitanya-shatak’. However we are presenting it by the name given by our Beloved sri Gourachandra, that is, “Sri Sārbabhouma-Shatatakam”.

Although this book is small, its impact is huge. Sometimes Tiny gems cost more, and an atom of Mahaprasād can shower enormous mercy in our lives.
