  1. Stunning! Who is that fortunate soul that gets this darshan on a daily basis? How do you manage to go to school, work, perform your daily duties???
  2. Radhe Radhe !! As a rule ALL Raganuga Vaishnavs bathe their Deities daily, do shringar, (which includes chandan-shringar throughout the year), do complete archanam, then do mantra-smaran (ALL the 11 Gayatris, not only 3/4), then Yogpeeth, and of course Mahamantra chanting. This is the minimum level of sadhana. And certainly all of them go to work, study, cook, clean and everything else that all materialists do. Most of the raganuga Vaishnavs i know also chant 32 to 64 rounds. Above and all they remain immersed in Nectarine Meditation. At least the ones with whom i associate.
  3. For some raganuga vaishnavas nama takes precedent over archan. Some do not do external archan at all, only mansik puja. Since it is impossible to know ALL raganuga vaishnavas in the world, it would be more accurate to say, “some” or “the raganuga vaishnavas that I know personally”. My comment was more along the lines of “Wow – such an intoxicating darshan, it must be difficult to concentrate on regular work once you’ve become drunk on the beauty of Thakurji”.
  4. Radhe Radhe !! Dearest Radhe Radhe -ji !! 🙂 i understood perfectly the tru nature of your lovely sincere and pure admiration. i have learnt from Srila Babaji Maharaj that it is a RULE for all Vaishnav initiated devotees to do archanam. That it is compulsory. All babajis in radhakund and also Binod Babaji of Barsana perform external archanam. In Mahant Maharaj’s ashram as well as other temples, say Prankrishna Baba’s temple – all babajis perform individual archanam. Mahant-ji had told us that all family members have to perform separate and individual archanam. i was simply reiterating this instruction. That is why i started by saying (in my previous comment) – “As a rule” – implying that it is a “rule”. i also ended the comment with “all Vaishnavs i am associated with, perform this rule”. Now whether an individual follows a rule or not is purely her or his discretion. We are given many rules. Not all of us manage to follow all of them due to various circumstances. i may follow all the rules all the while, yet my heart stinks so much that Goursundar won’t consider me even for the garbage-bag. i may be doing external archanam, and then rest of the day i play poker ,saying my “duties” for the day are over. Sometimes i do not perform anyexternal seva, saying that waht really counts is the “purity of the heart” thus justifying my laziness. Any way you look, i am hell bent on being a rascal. Thus each devotee has her / his priority. How much we really follow the two basic golden rules – “Always remember Krishna, Never forget Krishna” on which all other rules are based, holds good at all times. If i don’t follow the two basic rules, then i am no good. Radhe Radhe !!
  5. “ALL the 11 Gayatris” The diksha mantra for Gaudiyas is Gopal Mantra (kling krsnaya…) All other mantras and gayatris are supplementary. Therefore throughout Bangladesh, West Bengal and beyond you find Gaudiya lines that give anywhere between 1 mantra only (Gopal Mantra) at the time of diksha, to multiple mantras and gayatris at the time of diksha. It depends on the various traditions.
  6. Radhe Radhe ! The Vedic shastras clearly mention the ashtadashakshar Mantra or the Gopal Mantra. i recently read that the Radha Mantra too is mentioned in Devi Bhagavat (that also give the upasana-paddhati and swarup of Radhaji) and that this mantra is “Om Hrim sri radhikayai swaha”. All non-GVs who worship Sri Radha, chant this mantra across the length and breadth of North India. Now this is different from what the GVs who have got “Radha Mantra” chant. i’d surely like to know which Vedic scripture contains the Mantra that they chant. Also, i hv asked quite afew Masters to cite the texts from which the other mantras were taken, however i hv not got any reply so far. If anyone can help, i don’t mind. Until then, can we say that we shall accept only the Gopal Mantra as the “authentic one” ?
  7. Gaudiyas don’t trace much on 4 Vedas. Gaudiyas trace on Bhagavat Purana and the Goswami Granthas. Whatever mantras and gayatris various Gaudiya Vaishnava Gurus give at diksha, whether just the Gopal Mantra, or the Gopal Mantra combined with Kama Gayatri, or multiple mantras and gayatris like Gora Mantra/Gora Gayatri, etc, would depend on the particular Gaudiya lineage. Whether or not these mantras/gayatris can be traced to a particular Veda or not would not matter much to Gaudiyas. There is the Kishori Tantra which has various mantras and gayatris in it that are used by Gaudiyas. Do you know who wrote the Kishori Tantra? My understanding is that somehow these various mantras and gayatris like Gora mantra/Gora gayatri, Nityananda mantra/Nityananda gayatri etc got mystically revealed to Mahaprabhu’s parikaras or the descendents of Mahaprabhus parikaras in their bhajan and they started passing them down in their paramparas. Therefore they would be considered authentic to Gaudiyas, but probably not authentic for people who trace on 4 Vedas. PS: what is the official name of the Indian Niagara Falls that you showed us? I’ve never been to Kerala but would love to someday. Everything I’ve heard about that state is beautiful.
