Lift Your gaze, O maiden, do !

Shyamsundar is trying to assuage Sri Radha’s maan – He is imploring Her –
Please lift Your gaze, Râi, please lift Your gaze !
You don’t know, how much Your lowered eyes (when You do not look at me) affects me – Your crestfallen face agonizes my eyes while my heart palpitates dangerously. See, the only reason I don a golden yellow garment, is because it resembles Your complexion, and if You merely heave a sigh, my heart jumps to my throat! (this proves how much I love You).
Oh Râi, how much more will You test me? The whole world knows how I worship You !
Take take take, Râi, my precious flute. All I want in return is, to touch the dust of Your holy feet. My eyes are absorbed in gazing at Your sweet face, and this ‘thief’ with whom You are so very familiar, has meditated so much on Your face that He has replaced the mascara on Your eyes !
You are the most beautiful, most qualified and the most youthful in all creation. Brahmâji has made You Love personified. You are wealthy with love and have such precious qualities, then my dear, why do behave so miserly? Why do You not shower Your affection on me ? Poet Gyâna dâs says – I wish You knew the truth !
