Bowled over by Barsana
For me Barsana stands for the three L's - lassi, lathmaar and lazing around. :)[b] Barsana, Sri Radha's birthplace is the spot where i simply chill out. Tall glasses of cool lassi (malaai maar ke) is something i am completely 'nichhaawar ' on. And then of course there is the Lathmaar Holi which i simply MUST attend. After all, there is no place like Barsana to lose not just your 'baaju-bandh' but your heart...and everything else (Remember the lilting number........."mero khoye gayo baaju-bandh rasiya holi me " ....sweetheart, i lost my armlet in all the commotion of Holi .......that caused a tsunami on Radhakund Parikrama path?) What is life without all this razzmatazz :) ? However, i have never been bold enough to take out my camera during Rangeeli Holi - it seemed far too risky. i'd rather lose my baaju-bandh in stead. Jay Radhe !!!
Jokes apart, for me Barsana also means spiritual resurrection and gelling of advanced devotional ideas. Far from the mad rush of Bombay, Shuka and i got ample time to delve into the deeper siddhantas of bhakti and the ultimate goal of any spiritual path. As we discussed with each other, many of my ideas got clear and i w as able to chalk out a more decisive path in saadhan-bhakti. Barsana has moulded much of my decisions in sadhana ..............-
"nazar hain yaa paimana ?
mijaaz bhi hai aashiqana
aap lakh koshish kijiye huzoor
par itra aur majnu chhipaaye nahi chhipte.
dil ki baat zubaan pe na laanaa
paheliyon se hame sataanaa
aap ko hai sayyam pe guroor
phir kashmakash aapke kyun chhipaaye nahi chhipte ?"
