Shribaas-Angan[b]

Shrivaas is the embodiment of the perfect devotee – an incarnation of Naarad Muni. Till date, Lord Sri Goursundar performs His munificent leelaas in his courtyard – well known as – ‘Shribas-angan’.The original Shribas-angan is situated close to ‘Pora Ma-talaa’ in the main town of Nabadweep. Again we discovered very nice sevaa being offered to the Deities in Shribas-angan. Simple, yet loving. Here we present some very sweet darshan from this holy place.

    • Panchatattva in Shribaas-angan. We can see Lord Goursundar in the 'instructing pose', with His right hand lifted in the style of a teacher; to His right stands Lord Nitaichand in a bright blue attire, with Lord Advaita standing to His right. It is hearty to note that Nitaisundar is begging us for prem with extended arms. To Gorachand's right, we find Gadadhar too begging for love - after all he is none but Srimati Radharani ! On the extreme left we see Shrivas Pandit exhorting us on the path of pure devotion. The ends of the dhotis of Gour, Gadadhar and Shrivas are arranged like a flower (and this requires expertise - i tell you) - in 'pukka' Bengali style. :)

    • When not in Yogpeeth, Ishwari and the sakhis give darshan separately (without Govinda). On different days, they give darshan as per the inspiration in the sevak's heart. On that day, swamini was out to sell butter with Her sakhis - mmm........on other thoughts.......is She really out to sell butter, or is there some other motive, i wonder?

    • Lord Nityananda with his twin shaktis - Mother Basudha to His right and Mother Jahnaba to His left. Both mothers are dressed in the finest Bengali saris that reveals Their beauty all the more, while Nitaichand is all dressed to kill - attired in the style of an 'about-to-get-married' Bengali bridegroom :) Our Nitaichand is naturally so beautiful - '<i>bhushana-bhushana-angam'</i> that it is an insult to Their Lordships when we cover Their sweetness with tons of jewellery - that too artificial ones. Here the simple decoration of flower-garlands alone enhance the bliss of true Goudiya Vasihnavs, does it not?
